With a wave of sports-luxe looks dominating seasons past, it's certainly been a while since we've seen really strong boho influences on the runway outside of the traditionally bohemian brands.
With a wave of sports-luxe looks dominating seasons past, it's certainly been a while since we've seen really strong boho influences on the runway outside of the traditionally bohemian brands. Now, we're noticing a transition into boho-luxe looks, with fringing clearly stepping forward as a key theme of Spring 2014. 3.1 Phillip Lim, Hervé Léger, Tibi, Altuzarra, Derek Lam, Tory Burch and The Row are all delivering Spring's new haute hippie direction, with fringing and languid boho silhouettes bringing a bohemian flavour to otherwise ultra-modern or sporty looks. At Tibi a black tasseled top was paired with sporty, cropped ombre pants, while 3.1 Phillip Lim delivered an equally unexpected, but still sporty take on the trend, mixing a sheer-panelled midi skirt with fringed details and a boxy, cropped t-shirt. At Altuzarra, fringing lent a free-spirited finish to plunging necklines and evocative shirt and skirt pairings.
We're guessing you're as impatient as we are, so take advantage of the reversed seasons and warm weather (thank-you, Southern Hemisphere) and try out the Spring 2014 trend now. Head into the gallery for our top five fringed finds to wear right now.
