It was a veritable who's who of the country's hottest radio personalities last night, when they hit the red carpet for the 2012 Australian Commercial Radio Radio Awards (ACRA). The event, which was hosted by international reality TV personality Sharon Osbourne and Merrick Watts, saw celebs like Melanie Brown and her husband Stephen Belafonte, Jackie O, Guy Sebastian, The Veronicas and Sarah Murdoch hit the red carpet on a chilly Sydney evening. WSFM's breakfast show announcers Amanda Keller and Brendan "Jonesy" Jones won the most coveted award of the night — best on-air team &mdash, while The Kyle & Jackie O Show won best networked program. What a pretty week we've had in beauty land! A whole bunch of our favourite stars hit the town with new makeup looks and hairstyles to try, and we can't wait to give them a go. From statement lips (Emma Stone and Jesinta Campbell at the Topshop Sydney launch) to gorgeous cheeks that'll pop in summer (The Veronicas), we were faced with a kaleidoscope of colours displayed in the prettiest ways. One of our favourite new trends? Lining our eyes with different colour shadows and liners. Blue is all the rage at the moment, but whichever colour you choose, it looks beautiful and was perfectly modelled by two major celebs this week. Click through the gallery to find out who, and get ready to be inspired!
It's been quite the week of celebrity-spotting in Sydney this week. Wednesday night we saw a slew of stars in the best Topshop threads at the UK retailer's first Sydney store opening, and last night's Legally Blonde: The Musical opening night is providing the perfect red carpet chaser. The Veronica's were backed up, donning similar-but-different versions of the tight top + maxi skirt combo, Natalie Bassingthwaighte looked elegant in a peplummed LBD (and those shoes from Topshop!) and Gigi Edgley opted for a flirty red frock. Special mention must go to Kerri-Anne Kennerley who worked a pair of statement gold trousers like nobodies business. Want more? Step on in to get your Friday morning dose of local style-stalking!
Legally Blonde: The Musical officially opened in Sydney last night with an Australian gala premiere attended by musical-loving stars. There may have been a lack of Elle Woods’ signature colour, pink, and bend-and-snap move on the purple carpet — plenty of that in the show — but celebrities such as The X Factor’s Natalie Bassingthwaighte, The Veronicas’ Jess and Lisa Origliasso, Home and Away’s Dan Ewing, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Adam Garcia were happy to pose on their way into the Lyric Theatre. The cast of the musical includes Lucy Durack as Elle, Rob Mills as Warner Huntington III, Erika Heynatz as Brooke Wyndham, and Cameron Daddo as Professor Callahan, and their success was celebrated at The Star’s Marquee nightclub after the show. The first Topshop and Topman Sydney store opened its doors last night with a star-studded launch party that allowed VIP guests to eat canapés and sip on champagne and cocktails while perusing the many racks of clothes in the four-floor flagship. Some celebrities were invited on Tuesday to choose outfits from the store to wear for their purple carpet arrival, including Jesinta Campbell, Ruby Rose, Puberty Blues actress Isabelle Cornish, newlywed Vogue Williams, Lisa and Jess Origliasso of The Veronicas, and Erin McNaught, who debuted a new hairstyle for her brief Sydney return from Europe. But it wasn’t just about the stylish ladies, many of whom were wearing on-trend peplum and metallics — guys such as Brian McFadden, Didier Cohen and Hayden Quinn were fitted out in Topman threads.
The store officially opens to the public today at 9 a.m. and it has sparked a retail frenzy, with some keen shoppers even staying the night outside the doors. For the best, almost-like-you’re-there Topshop experience, flick through Fab’s in-store tour, scope her top 20 picks, and arm yourself with her Topshop and Topman cheat sheet!
We're suffering from an accute case of Topshop overload here at Fab HQ this morning. Yesterday morning we gave you the VIP in-store tour, before listing our top 20 must-have items, then gave you a nifty cheat sheet for navigating the second Aussie flagship for the UK chain store — and that was all before attending last night's star-studded opening party! The usual crew were out in force, and decked to the nines in Topshop's latest threads (and make up prods). Our vote for best-dressed goes to Kate Waterhouse who picked a classic striped shift, Sophie Lowe who looked adorable in a pair of velvet overalls and Jesinta Campbell who kept things slick and sexy in a metallic shell and spray-on pencil skirt. There's plenty more self-styled Topshop ensembles inside, so take a peek at what the celebrity pack chose to wear to Topshop Sydney's big night . . .
Topshop Australia's grand opening on George Street in Sydney was the place to be last night, with celebrities including Jesinta Campbell, Ruby Rose, Erin McNaught and the Veronicas turning out on the purple arrivals carpet. The Topshop Australia team put on quite the show with cool DJs, cocktails, yummy canapés and lots of shopping adventures throughout the four level complex (we may or may not have done some damage to our trusty credit cards...). But we especially loved the Topshop Australia beauty looks on show — from purple lipstick to luscious lashes — the celebrity guests really went all out for the highly anticipated opening. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival (MBFF) gives everyday shoppers a chance to scope the trends that were showcased on the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia back in May, but it doesn’t mean the front rows have been void of fashion-loving stars. Opening night saw the likes of Rachael Finch, Magdalena Roze and The Veronicas soaking up the style, while attendees who braved the Sydney storm for last night’s Myer runway included Laura Dundovic and designers Kym Ellery, Jayson Brunsdon and Nicola Finetti. The catwalk also had its fill of famous faces (and bodies) in the form of Jennifer Hawkins and Kris Smith.
It may have been all about Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth at the Snow White and the Huntsman Sydney premiere last night, but local celebs were hard to ignore thanks to their impressive hair and makeup skills. Jess and Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas, Rebecca Breeds and Sophie Lowe were just a few of the famous faces who chose to highlight their lips in honour of the blockbuster movie, proving that there's no better accessory than a good lipstick when you want to make maximum impact with minimum effort. Step inside our gallery for a closer look.
Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth may have headlined last night’s Sydney premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman at Westfield Bondi Junction, but there were plenty of Australian stars out in force walking the long white carpet as well. Home and Away was well represented, with former star Kate Ritchie, Steve Peacocke, and newly-engaged Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds in attendance. Chris got his big break on Home and Away many years ago and has said it was a great foundation for his career. The Veronicas, Lisa and Jess Origliasso, wore Wheels & Dollbaby for the premiere, and Erin McNaught matched the night’s theme in white at one of her last Sydney events before making the move to Europe. Sophie Lowe, Verne Troyer, Laura Csortan and Michelle Bridges rounded out the crowd.
