Often, trends take on a more adventurous edge — like say, punk-themed accessories or vibrant ethnic-inspired pieces — so it's refreshing when things swing towards a more minimal aesthetic. This week, we're zeroing in on the most simplistic ear adornment we've seen in ages: the bar stud. They're dainty, delicate and edgy all at once, and whether you like yours with studs, black diamonds (yes, please), or plain and simple like Ginnifer Goodwin's, there's a pair to appeal to everyone. We've shortlisted our faves to a list of 10 — click through to see, and shop!
Our favourite famous famous gave us many talking points this week. Top of the list? Cara Delevingne, who locked lips with another beautiful English It Girl and made sure to share the resulting pics on Instagram. Also making us sit up and pay attention? The Aussie model who took a unique approach to expressing her opinion on gun laws. . . at the 2013 Met Gala. A wild week it may have been, but it was just as stylish and beautiful as ever. Lara Bingle, Miranda Kerr and Bambi Northwood-Blyth all gave us some behind-the-scenes pics in the makeup chair, Phoebe Tonkin found her wedding dress inspiration (while another celebrity got married in black!), Jennifer Hawkins took a break on a photo shoot and Nicole Richie zoomed in on some gorgeous details (check out those nails!). There's so much to see — click through now to check it all out!
We've had a colourful week here at POPSUGAR — literally and figuratively! We were blown away (and snowed under) with all the action at the 2013 Met Gala, and we loved seeing our favourite stars stepping out of their comfort zone and into the punk theme. On the fashion front, Ali got to check out heaps of new season collections, with Gasparre Cashmere and Bianca Spender standing out from the crowds with their beautiful pieces. Health and beauty editor Alison took cues from the Met Gala with her beauty choices, while celebrity editor Jess lined up some roses from hunky men, thanks to The Bachelor Australia. There's plenty more to see — come this way!
Punk is back! Leave it to the 2013 Met Gala to bring early-1990s London back to life — and of course, looking better than ever. Tuesday's event was themed Punk: Chaos to Couture, and we've gotta say. . . Never have studs, zips, safety pins and spikes looked so classy (or pretty, for that matter). The accessories stole the show that night in a stylish parade of rebellion; from Cara Delevingne and Sienna Miller's spikes and studs and Gisele Bundchen's sexy heels, to Miranda Kerr's cool clutch — there wasn't a detail that went against the theme, and we're following suit today. We've been drooling over these pretty punk-inspired pieces, and you can shop them right here, right now! Come along. . .
In the lead up to this year's Met Gala — which will celebrate the PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibition opening tomorrow — Moda Operandi has curated an exclusive punk collection in honour of fashion's biggest night. With more than 100 pieces in the lineup, some designed just for Moda Operandi, and all crafted with a distinctly punk-infused edge, it's certainly a motley, if not inspired, mix of wares. From tartan plaid courtesy of Vivienne Westwood's sexy corset dresses to Nicholas Kirkwood mohawk peep-toe booties to a graffiti-covered Hermès Kelly bag (yes, you read that correctly), there's something subversive, albeit chic, to be found (and coveted) within. And if all else fails, your vintage Ramones tee and Converse are just as on-point for Monday's upcoming festivities. Click on for our editors' favourite Moda Operandi Punk Shop pieces, then view the whole collection here.
Our favourite style and beauty icons were generous with their social media time this week, keeping us posted as they hung out at the beach with a beer (thanks, Samara Weaving!), had their hair and makeup done (Lara Bingle and Jesinta Campbell) and met up with their fellow model best mates (Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo). Phoebe Tonkin proved that she can do no wrong, posing with a face as fresh as the flowers she's holding, and looking more beautiful than ever, while Jennifer Hawkins displayed a sexy neon swimsuit and the ultimate wavy beach hair. There's much more to see, though — click through now to check it all out!
There's never a dull moment in the world of celebrity, fashion and beauty — how could there be, when there are so many new things to marvel at? This week, fashion editor Ali was a busy little bee, popping in to showings for labels like Armani Exchange, Lilya, May The Label and more. . . And we may have added to our list of style must-haves upon seeing some of the cool new threads. In the beauty world, Alison showed off an affordable lipstick that she gets endless compliments on, discovered a divine cosmetics brand new to Australia and found a concealer to beat all others. As for entertainment? Jess was all over the My Kitchen Rules grand final and Kelly Osbourne's Aussie visit. Click through to check it all out!

Much like their more common counterparts (jeans), denim shirts are the kind of versatile wardrobe essential you'll love so much, you'll wonder how you operated without them. Like your favourite denim pieces in pants form, these shirts are flattering, versatile, easy to wear, and so comfortable they feel like a second skin. And happily for us, the more popular they get, the more options we have to pick between. But when the prices are this low — we've selected five ace ones, all for under $60 — why not stock up? We guarantee you won't look back. Want more denim? We've got you covered.
After the craziness of fashion week last week, we spent most of this week catching up on the latest in the land of celebrity, fashion and beauty. POPSUGAR health and beauty editor Alison tried out some so-new-they're-not-on-the-shelves-yet products, and the verdict? The Chanel mascara is a winner, and we've got proof! Fashion editor Ali got a look-see at the styles and trends that are coming our way for Spring/Summer later this year (yep, we're already talking Summer!), and celebrity editor Jess revisted Catching Fire after watching the exclusive trailer that was released at the MTV Video Awards. And, of course, we documented it all — and much more — via Instagram. See our week in pictures when you click through!
