For pre-Fall, Mango showed some enviable outfits in its look book featuring cuties Kasia Struss and Emma Xie. Think clever layering with floral skirts, striped tees, denim, and flirty dresses — perfect for those sometimes challenging transitioning months from August to September. But not all is casual; we spotted some cropped trousers for the polished working woman and even a pretty lace frock that would be first-date perfect. I love the way fashion seasons work. In the midst of Summer we're seeing what's in store for Winter, and although it can create some annoying but-I-want-to-wear-my-wool-poncho-in-30-degree-heat conundrums, it also means we always have something to look forward to (hello Pre-Fall '11!). Take Stella McCartney. She's just previewed her Autumn 2011 line in New York (like, only a few hours ago), and it's making me want the weather to turn cold already — crazy, I know! Mind you, wrap your eyeballs around her lusher-than-lush camel coats, spliced statement knit jumpers and sharp edged suiting and you may just agree with me. Winter, anyone?

Even though we love a punchy coral, bold fuchsia and classic red, something's eternally pretty and girly and Summery about a baby pink lip, no? Diane Kruger opted for a soft pastel pink at yesterday's Pre-Fall 2011 Chanel Metiers d'Art collection in Paris and we're encouraging everyone to follow suit très vite. It's incredibly cute, and easy to wear, too.

Take lead from Diane and keep the rest of the makeup palette simple when wearing gelato colours. See how Diane's gone for just a light coating of mascara and a hint of rose blush? That's the best way to wear this look. It's great for day-time. Think Summer BBQs and lawn bowls. Finish with a side braid and you have yourself a sleek and chic look for the warmer months.
