Move over denim! Leather has been on the radar for many a season — making repeat appearances on celeb bods and runways alike — but we think this hard-wearing staple has finally hit its straps; replacing denim as the fashion set's most durable yet desirable fabrication. E-tail stores in-the-know have entire tabs dedicated to their leather offerings, and you'll find everything from tees to dresses to drop-crotch pants have been sexified in this skin. Hence, this week on POPSUGAR Fashion we'll be spotlighting anything and everything leather.

To ensure that your leather foundations are firm we're going to start at the cornerstone of any leather capsule: the iconic biker jacket. One part Steve McQueen to two parts Kate Moss — this tough-girl staple will add 'tude to any outfit. Balmain and Rick Owens are famous for their respective takes on this wardrobe essential, but there are some less exxy versions on offer, too. On your bike! 

One Teaspoon has a habit of pumping out some pretty cool campaigns; be it Erin Wasson getting crazy on Venice Beach or letting it all hang out to the tune of "I'm On a Boat," this local label certainly knows how to capture that adventurous, rock 'n' roll spirit. This season is no exception, with designer Jamie Blakey's inner-rebel acting as model and muse for the 'Fallen Angel' Winter 2013 collection. Aztec, zebra and metallic touches punk-up their iconic denim range and scene-stealing leather pieces in white and silver epitomize OT's I'm-with-the-band aesthetic. Embellishment takes things up a notch with tough-girl studs and beading making off-duty staples just that little bit more cool. Think Almost Famous' Penny Lane but with an '80s vibe. Sayonara skinnies! The latest incarnation of the snapped-everywhere leather skinny pant is cut on the generous side.
