On fit: Fit is very, very important. You want a jean that is super flattering but also relatively practical. You need to be able to move around in it. On skinny styles: When I wear a skinny jean, I like it to have a little bag around the knee and the ankle. It's more modern than something that is tight, tight, tight. On fabrics and colours: I spend a lot of time making sure we get it right with the wash because there's a big difference between something that looks authentic and something that looks like it's been made.
In celebration of its new web presence, denim guru True Religion has put together a provocative new film that's not to be missed. Erin Wasson and Tommy Dunn reinvent sexy in their blue jeans, plaid, and leather. Warning: it's hot as hell — flirty rock 'n' roll music, shirtless Erin, a rugged motorcycle, sultry eye contact, steamy poses. Yowza. If you can tear your eyes away from the vid for a second be sure to check out the online store which now ships to Australia!

Fashion trends always have a way of creeping up on me when I least expect it. Hello, denim on denim. When the trend first hit catwalks and magazine spreads I was the first to dismiss it. Double denim? As if! That was of course until last weekend when the fashion penny finally dropped. Without even consciously being aware, I reached for my chambray anorak and teamed it with my trusty Cheap Monday skinny mid-blue jeans. Just like that, the trend suddenly made sense and I was undeniably hooked. Now before you shake your head at me, hear me out. DOD really is easier to wear than you think...
Mixing denim shades is OK! Chambray and lightwash denim looks suprisingly good mixed with darker hues. Hey, just ask Alexa! Denim jackets aren't what they used to be! Try a moto-style zipper jacket teamed with skinny jeans for an updated rock look. Layering is your friend. Break up a head-to-toe denim outfit with fresh white, stripes, blazers and scarves. Don't limit DOD to jeans only. Team a denim vest with shorts or why not try an oversized chambray shirt with jeggings?
Lauren Conrad covers US Glamour's May issue talking friendship, cellulite, and where she gets her favourite jeans from! Here are some highlights from the interview, to catch the full version click here.
On her famous friends: Lo [Bosworth], who is my roommate; Whitney [Port]; my other roommate... When I’m upset they build me up, and if I’m getting a little too involved, they bring me back. On her fast paced career: I learned very fast that this is a business, not a playground. Your career affects a lot of other people’s careers—they depend on you to do your job. In Hollywood, you grow up quick. On her wardrobe essentials: A sky-high black heel. Skinny jeans—mine are BDG from Urban Outfitters. They’re affordable and I go through them so quickly; I rip and stain and spill on them. I’m like a five-year-old! On pressures to be thin: I’ve never felt a push to be stick thin. I work out and eat healthy, so mostly it’s about being in shape and having energy. But about a year ago, I looked down and thought, I have cellulite. Where did that come from? I went through treatments; [my body] was like, It’s not going anywhere. Recently my boyfriend and I went to Cabo. We sat down on the beach, I took off my wrap and some woman pointed out a boat full of paparazzi. I was like, “There goes my tan.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal showed her support for the environment by attending the Darker Side of Green climate change debate in New York last night. She played with separates for the occasion by teaming a silk puff-sleeve blouse with a waisted belt, jeans, and brogue-style boots. Separately, these pieces are all gorgeous — I love the ladylike top and gold detailing on the belt, but mixed in with these lightwash jeans, the proportions seem a bit off. She would have been better off tucking the blouse into some great skinny pants or a flirty skirt methinks. How about you?
