Marion Cotillard has always caught my attention for being a great actress who wears beautiful clothes, namely, Christian Dior. It's obvi that she's drop-dead-gorgeous, but it's only now that I've truly realised what a beauty she is. The French actress got down to basics in a pared-down but striking shoot forInterview magazine's August issue. Draped in Dior, Alberta Ferretti and a mix of other dreamy pieces, Marion poses in a romantic sequence of steamy shots which wouldn't look out of place in an art gallery. Posing half-nude and half-clothed works really well for the Frenchie, I must say. Interview's shoots can always lean towards the kooky side (hello, Megan Fox and mannequin friend), but this spread shot by Mikael Jansson is absolutely breathtaking.
Jimmy Choo founder and president Tamara Mellon bared all — quite literally — for Interview magazine's April issue. Inside the feature she speaks about her pre-Choo career, the growth of the brand, suing her mother and posing nude for Terry Richardson. Here are some highlights:
On her fashion credentials: I was wearing leather Azzedine Alaïa at boarding school...I worked on the shop floor in Browns selling Alaïa. I’ve worked in a PR company. I worked for Caroline Baker at Mirabella. I worked for Sarajane Hoare, who is a legend, at British Vogue, doing shoots with photographers like Mario Testino. But these writers forget about that stuff. On her business savvy: I think it’s instinct. Everything I do is just really my intuition, and every time I go against my intuition, it’s a mistake...The reality is that I spent years in the factories in Italy when I first set up Jimmy Choo. Today everyone who has a job at Jimmy Choo, I’ve done their job—right down to the cleaner. On her motivation to succeed: You know, I went through a court case with my mother who is delusional and lied about me. So I guess even in the face of my success, I still can’t get the approval. So I’m still fighting for approval. On posing nude for Terry: I’m very comfortable with Terry, so for me, it was very fun. To have a picture done by Terry Richardson—I mean, how amazing is that?
Get excited — the April release of the newest must-grab Apple gadget also means big things in the world of fabby fashion. This month, Interview launches its latest issue on the iPad, featuring over 300 screens slammed with interactive interviews and glamorous eye candy. Plus, Carey Mulligan is April's cover girl. Brace yourselves, this digitized mag might just send you into overdrive. See Carey Mulligan's Interview cover after the jump.
For its February issue, Interview magazine and photog Craig McDean got zany with Sasha Pivovarova in an editorial filled with psychedelic whimsy. In a spread dubbed My Space, Sasha looks like the ultimate artsy doll dripped in an array of bedazzled boleros, fluorescent tulle, and Prada's lusty crystal-embellished sandals. I'm smitten with her perfectly tangled hair, which comes complete with dusty pink highlights, and mannequin-like expressions. It's kinda creepy but still cool. If you look past the amazing artistic mess, you'll also find some sumptuous, soft skirts and embellished tops. Take a peek..
Vogue Australia's September issue has made Time's Top 10 Magazine Covers list for 2009. Featuring 4 differently illustrated images of Cate Blanchett, the 50th anniversary issue was designed by fashion illustrator David Downton. Time is impressed with the cover due to its "'50s style illustration, which creates a perfect merger of glamour, celebrity and style announcing an issue that covers the magazine's long history." Other magazine covers making the cut include W'sNovember issue with Linda Evangelista and Kirsten Stewart's Interview cover for the magazine's 40th anniversary issue. Well done, Aussie Vogue!
