Fashion Lately: Deets on Miranda Kerr's Wedding Dress!

I so called it. The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that Miranda Kerr requested four Collette Dinnigan vintage gowns to possibly wear to her secret wedding ceremony in America last week. This surely comes as no surprise given that Dinnigan has dressed many celebrity brides (including Sarah Murdoch) for their big days, and also happens to be stocked in David Jones. Continuing the Aussie theme, Kerr reportedly blinged up Orlando with a ring made by Sydney jewellery designer Stefano Canturi. Huzzah! All this waiting around is sending me slightly loco, let's hope some juicy wedding snaps are released soon!

7 For All Mankind Launch ConTEMPORARY Studio in Sydney

Cult US denim label 7 For All Mankind has launched its unique pop-up store in Sydney's Paddington, which marks the first stand-alone retail store in Australia for the label. From now until March 2011, the bi-level space will sell the full range of clothing, including the premium 7*7*7 line; a wide selection of Ella Moss, Splendid and contemporary labels; and will also dedicate space to showcasing established and up and coming Sydney artists through seven various mediums. Aaron Battista, VP of retail at 7 For All Mankind explains the store best: "The key themes for each artistic display will be articulated through the artists' perception of our denim and their view of both Californian and Sydney lifestyles. The shop will be a blend of culture and fashion, mixed with amazing assortment of 7 For All mankind product." Sounds like our kind of store. Fashion Lately: Taylor Jacobson, 'Member Her?

I still really miss Taylor. I know we haven't caught up with the new season of The Rachel Zoe Project yet, but I'm anticipating it just won't be the same without Tay's dramatic eye rolls. The Cut was lucky enough to catch up with the platinum blonde stylist to chat about life since leaving Zoe headquarters. Some highlights include:

On what she's up to: I’m styling, I’m building my roster of clients - you know, editorials, campaigns, personal shopping for private clients I have. I’m pretty much doing the same thing, just on my own.
Will she return to reality TV?: I don’t know if I’m really cut out to do reality TV. It’s just not the direction I want - I’m so awkward. There’s things on the table, but it’s not my priority.
On working on her own: I was ready. To, like, go off on your own, do it for yourself, have your own clients, have your own ventures. In the terms of, like, getting your world, your accounts set up - like your FedExes - it’s been a lot of work. But I’ve never been happier. I assisted for a long time - serious stylists, actually - and I just felt like it’s time.
Her advice to aspiring stylists: First of all, it’s not glamorous. I feel like people don’t realize that it’s a lot of manual labour - you’re schlepping garment bags, you’re not in the most glamorous locations. But never give up. If that’s your dream, start interning at a PR company.

Espresso While You Shop? Don't Mind if I Do...

Kate Sylvester is feeling generous! Commencing this Saturday, her Paddington store will be setting up a coffee cart offering made-to-order Toby's Estate organic coffee to caffeine-hungry shoppers. While you're at it, if you sign up to the Kate Sylvester database you'll receive a $50 voucher to use instore once the new Summer range has been delivered. What's the catch? Well...none. "Coffee and shopping are a match made in heaven, especially on a Saturday morning, and also we just felt like being nice!" says the designer. I'll pay that. The Paddo store will also be hosting a mix of Tea and Vinyl, where customers can retreat in a lounge area to listen to records (everything from The Ramones to The Velvet Underground) and sip Clipper's organic teas if the shopping becomes all too much for one day. Now that's what I call retail therapy!

25 year old Victoria's Secret angel Doutzen Kroes has just confirmed she's pregnant with her first child! She announced the news to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf yesterday, stating that she and boyfriend, DJ Sunnery James, are "in the clouds." Kroes will continue to model as long as she feels "physically well," and will join the ever-growing ranks of fellow new model-mums including Gisele Bündchen, Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova. Now, wonder if Miranda Kerr is going to jump on the pregnancy-announcement bandwagon soon, eh?

Vogue Loves Alexa...and so does Karl Lagerfeld!

She's been photographed by Mario Sorrenti for Vogue's annual August age issue, representing the youthful '20s group. I'm so glad the American fashion bible has zoned in on the British stylista; she really brings a refreshingly modern face to the title, don't ya think? Karl Lagerfeld wasn't shy on gushing about the TV presenter and Madewell designer in the issue, proclaiming: "I love Alexa! If someone asks me who is a modern girl for me today, Alexa should be the one! The way she looks, the way she talks, the way she acts...She is beautiful and clever!" Oh Karl, I'm so with you.

Rachel Zoe has teamed with shoe-pal Brian Atwood to design a pair of over-the-knee, platform suede boots which will hit stores in June. The design duo's friendship goes way back, with Rach telling Instyle recently that the pair met "dancing on a table in Paris" fifteen years ago. A sneak peek of the boots was posted on RZ's Twitter account last night and show some slinky chain detail bling up the slouchy style. The boots are expected to retail for almost US$3,000.

After launching a successful line of wedding and bridesmaid dresses, the next logical step for J. Crew was to open up a wedding boutique. And yesterday, that’s exactly what they did. The store, which opened on Madison Avenue in New York, provides brides-to-be with a luxurious and tailored shopping experience that sorts out everything related to the white stuff. The dresses come in a wide range of styles and are made from a selection of gorgeous fabrics, but brides will also love the high-end design minus the hefty designer price tags (wedding dresses range from $US295 to $US3,500). To mark the occasion, J. Crew held an opening soiree that drew guests like Kate Spade and Aerin Lauder. No word on whether J. Crew's wedding extravaganza will open in Oz yet, but in the meantime you can satisfy your cravings with gorgeous J. Crew gowns and dresses available on Net-a-Porter.
