Balenciaga, Missoni, Chloé and Givenchy — it's all happening at a chain store near you. Usually, I really appreciate a designer knock-off. Who wouldn't love a Balmain-esque jacket for about a zillionth of the original price? But lately, the whole idea has made me feel a bit...wrong. I can't say my wardrobe is overflowing with designer pieces, far from it in fact, but on the odd occasion I do splurge on a great handbag, statement heels or classic dress, I like to know that I've invested in an original piece. There's nothing worse than walking into your local chain store and seeing a similar style staring at you from the shelves. Heart wrenching, in fact.

How about you? Do you love a good chain store knock-off?
Whitney Port is coming to town, did ya know? She'll be here for Melbourne's L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival next week as a guest to the Target Rocks Red Market event. I'm really hoping she makes her way to Sydney so I can stalk, oops I mean, get a glimpse of her. In the meantime, she's been livin' it up in Miami presenting her Whitney Eve Fall collection, as well as grabbing a quick frozen treat with friend Roxy Olin. She's rocking two different looks for each occasion; casual leggings, striped tee and denim jacket for day, and a more tailored blazer, jewelled necklace and sequin heels for night. Both are pure Whit style, but which do you prefer?

Just add blazer — it's the chicest way to add a relaxed feel to an evening look. Lookie here, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Aniston seem to think so. They've both been out and about this week keeping warm in their trusty blazer and evening combos. SJP looked pastel pretty in her Stella McCartney lace dress teamed with a Stella white blazer, layered necklaces and black pumps, while Jen chose a tailored Alexander McQueen black style over her Valentino metallic mini dress for the red carpet appearance of her new movie The Bounty Hunter in London last night. Both so sleek, but who rocks the blazer best?

Yep, that's Elle Macpherson in the mix. Strange to see her amongst fashion's hot young things, but then again, it's also strange to see her back on the catwalk, (we'll get to that in another post). In the meantime, which star looked most fab at the Louis Vuitton show yesterday? Is it Elle in her Parisian chic leather pants and cardi look; Alexa in her LV tweed coat dress and black opaques; Daisy in her cute grey knit and leather skirt, or Natalia in her mega-mini printed dress and boots?

Well there goes my theory of a couple that dresses well together, stays together. Boo. Poor Lara Bingle. I get the feeling she really enjoyed having a partner who completely took on her fashion advice and style. I mean, I can't imagine Michael Clarke working a Prada suit on his own accord, can you? In fact, if it wasn't for Lara, I wouldn't even know who Michael Clarke was, let alone what he wears. Don't judge people.

This is one Australian power couple who were as famous for their wardrobes as they were their public spats. It'll be interesting to see what happens now they no longer share a walk-in. Will Lars still drive her Aston Martin in YSL heels? Will Pup burn his designer suits and flaunt his cricket whites off the pitch? So many pressing questions. I'm interested to hear your take on this. Do you think Michael will tone down his style now he no longer has a high-fashion loving partner? Or will he wave the designer flag without her?
Kate Moss graces the cover of UK Vogue's April issue for the 29th time in her career, a huge testament to her unwavering popularity and fashion prowess. You can catch all her past covers here dating back to the early nineties, but in the meantime, what do you think of this latest offering?

I'm keen to hear your thoughts on this peeps, as I have mixed feelings on the subject. Is it wrong to pop into Chanel while on your way to Coles? I found myself in this very predicament just this past weekend. In my local shopping centre you not only have the choice of department stores, chain stores and the always tempting Donut King, but there's also a good mix of luxury labels on offer, including Chanel, Bally and Louis Vuitton.
As much as I enjoy the convenience of a one-stop-shop, it does feel kinda strange to be fondling a three thousand dollar handbag when I still have the sugary remnants of a cinnamon doughnut on my hands. Know what I'm sayin'?
Do you think luxury goods have their place in major shopping centres, or would you prefer to keep your groceries and luxe retail stores separate?
Surprisingly this fail-safe colour was few and far between on the red carpet this year. The stars that did choose black opted for more embellished and detailed styles rather than the simple block colour. What a pleasant surprise! Who do you think wore the best black frock this year? Carey Mulligan in Prada, Tina Fey in Michael Kors, Nicole Richie in Reem Acra or Faith Hill in Roberto Cavalli?

It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of Lou Doillon's style. Much like her Sister Charlotte (Gainsbourg), she has that innate sense of French style which makes anything she wears look instantly cool. This week's part-ays have been no exception, with the hottie attending a variety of fashion events in her unique, eclectic style. For The Cesar Film Awards recently, she braved a plunging black jumpsuit with statement hat and embellished jacket, while for the Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb event she chose a more covered up moody-green satin dress with black opaques and an oversized clutch. She's quite the cool cat in both, but which look do you prefer?

Wearing heels all day can be such a drag! Sure they look amazing and instantly make you look leaner/taller/fancier, but sometimes the pain of fashion can be too hard to bear! I'm constantly carrying around spare ballet flats in my handbag when I know I'll be running around in heels all day. How about you?
