To celebrate the first week of Spring, we've rounded up 15 of the best clothes and accessories to get your hot little hands on this month. Replace your Winter woolies with cute-as-a-button floral dresses, silky blouses, lightweight jackets and statement accessories. Just when you thought it was safe to declare the jegging trend officially over, out comes the newest legging trend, the tregging! This new form of pant is a cross between trousers, and you guessed it, leggings, and will hopefully put an end to the whole leggings-worn-as-pants problem, (which quite frankly, was never a good look on anyone). You see, this updated hybrid version has all the benefits of traditional leggings — comfort, a fitted silhouette and ankle skimming length, but the added bonus of trouser details such as pockets, a waistband and thicker fabrics.
Scared of the maxi dress? Me too. Well I was, until I spied this season's selection of updated shapes, prints and styles.
Olivia, Whitney, Alexa, Sienna — just a few of the celebs who prefer to lace-up when on the run. Brogues and jazz-style flats have been on the scene for a while now, but I finally feel they're catching up to the humble ballet as the casual-shoe of choice. A pair of metallic lace-ups can instantly add a tough edge to floral Spring dresses and cute printed shorts, while man-style brogues give an eclectic touch when paired with jeans for the weekend.
There's nothing more satisfying than finding a bargain, so I thought it was high-time we scoured our favourite online stores for a taste of affordable-chic. It's interesting to note that even celebrities are zoning in on chain-store winners; what else explains Louise Roe's recent H&M number and Alexa Chung's constant love affair with Topshop and Kurt Geiger? It really is the smarter way to shop, and I highly recommend scrimping on trend-based items each season (hello, clogs) and splurging on more classic, forever pieces (that's right Burberry trench, I still have my eye on you).
Feeling Splendour-ish? Me too, even though I'm not technically at the festival right now, sniff. All this talk of music festivals has gotten me in the mood to switch my Winter woolies for something a little more carefree and relaxed.
