2013 Met Gala: Kristen Stewart

As the face of Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance, you may have guessed that Kristen Stewart would wear the label on the Met Gala red carpet.

As the face of Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance, you may have guessed that Kristen Stewart would wear the label on the Met Gala red carpet. Alas, the Snow White and the Huntsman 2 actress went with a bordeaux lace-embroidered jumpsuit, studded pumps, and a gold square box clutch — all by Stella McCartney. Her coordinating eye makeup and slicked-back hair finished off the moody look. Are you a fan of her not-so-punk choice?

Revealed: Kate Bosworth Is the New Face for Topshop

We hate to say, but we knew it!

We hate to say, but we knew it! After some super-sleuth work late on a Friday afternoon, the Sugar crew concluded that Topshop's mystery new face must be Kate Bosworth. Why so sure? Well eagle-eyes Bella spotted her engagement ring in the first clip that was released (press pause around the eight second mark on the second teaser clip). Then we remembered her telling us during her stay in Sydney that she'd recently scored a slew of JW Anderson for Topshop goodies. If the ring fits! Directed by her fiancé Michael Polish, the festive-themed short film for the UK retailer sees Kate sing (yes, she can sing) atop a grand piano whilst wearing a custom-made backless bordeaux cocktail frock. Watch the big reveal, then go back to the sneak-peeks and see if you can see what we saw. Watch Kate walk in a Winterland . . .

Taylor Swift Puts Her Spin on This Season's Must-Have Hue — Burgundy

Taylor Swift has been a busy bee!

Taylor Swift has been a busy bee! Taylor Swift spent her weekend jet-setting from Tokyo, Japan, to see us in Sydney, to promote her new album, Red. As of late, Taylor has been going for a casual, vintage styling vibe, but this time around, she decided to switch it up with a sportier look, which consisted of red sneakers and stripes. She also slipped into this season's It colour via one slim-cut pair of burgundy jeans, which she paired with a breezy white top by Bella Dahl. Watch today's Fab Flash to hear all the details on her outfits down under!

Mischa Barton added an international flavour today's Melbourne Cup celebrations, attending as a guest of Emirates for their Irish-themed soirée. The O.C.-alumn choose a dramatically draped bordeaux dress from Ellery's A/W '13 collection for the occasion, topping off her luxe look with a vertically-twisted Phillip Treacy headpiece, Louis Vuitton and Cartier jewellery, a Louis Vuitton gold clutch and rust-hued heels. It sure is a head-turner! Thoughts?

Olivia Palermo

A Plaid Blazer Sounds Suspect — Until Olivia Palermo Wears One

We used to associate plaid jackets with awkward lumberjack looks — leave it to Olivia Palermo to change that with one effortless ensemble.

We used to associate plaid jackets with awkward lumberjack looks — leave it to Olivia Palermo to change that with one effortless ensemble. Equal parts downtown-cool and classically put together, Olivia outfitted Tibi's more contemporary plaid topper with biker boots and her burgundy Dior bag — how gorgeous is that colour?! — while sightseeing with beau Johannes Huebl in Paris. It's a more dressed-down look than we're used to seeing from Miss Palermo, but that just makes it easier to outfit in our own day to day. Feeling inspired? Cue the Hue: 4 Top Colour Trends From the 2012 Emmys

Top Four Colour Trends from the 2012 Emmy Awards Red Carpet: Yellow, Bordeaux, Grey and Seafoam

Today's Emmy Awards red carpet was a lesson in colour theory: celebrities brought out their best brights (and in some cases, moody hues) and gave us all a bit of inspiration when it comes to party dressing. For those of you who were planning to play it safe and stash your vivid hues away for a vacay, pay attention: stars like Claire Danes and Julianne Moore proved just how eye-catching a pop of citron can be, while Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara showed us that a lovely seafoam or turquoise can be a welcome change from the season's deeper hues. And if you're weary of making waves in bold brights, you can always look to a classically vampy hue like bordeaux — as demonstrated by Jena Malone's Grecian-inspired J.Mendel gown, or be subtle in (50) shades of grey like Sarah Hyland and Christina Hendricks. We've rounded up the three top colour trends we spotted on the Emmys red carpet and highlighted the stars that wore them well. Click through to see them now.
