I was impressed with the high calibre of celebs at the Critics' Choice Awards. These best dressed contenders all emote enviable style in their own way. Old Hollywood glamour, flirty fun, and vintage vibes were all present — which look reigned supreme?
Oh, c'mon, like you didn't see this one coming. The MTV host is on high rotation amongst many best dressed lists, and with good reason. Check out her quirky mix of high fashion and chain store chic; anyone who looks equally as good in Chanel as H&M gets my vote, hands down. I mean, how many celebs do you know that can pull off cutesy nautical inspired pieces with ballet flats, and still keep their cool-factor intact? Let's take a walk through some of her wardrobe stand-outs.
We saw many celebs wearing the coveted Louis Vuitton Spicy heels this year, but none mixed them up quite like the British It girl. Worn with a simple navy cardigan and opaque tights, she let the statement shoes speak for themselves. The same can be said for her red Calvin Klein Collection dress, glammed up with piled on necklaces and patent ankle boots. So simple, so chic. And let's not forget her drool-worthy Chanel looks - from quilted bags to bow booties, she can work those double C's like no one else. Gosh dang, Alexa, we officially heart you.
Move over, Cate. There's a new Aussie stylista on the block, and she's coming to a red carpet near you. The gorgeous Rose Byrne has really stepped up to the fashion plate this year, and we've been watching with eyes wide open. As she embarks on a stellar international career, her girly meets classic style seems to only get better with age.
Favouring a delicious smorgasboard of designers including Marc Jacobs (black and pink floral dress, top left and yellow belted gown, top right), Valentino (sequin sleeved dress, bottom right and embellished Emmys gown, centre) and Calvin Klein (nude off the shoulder dress), her perfectly polished style sees her mix classic shapes with an enviable modern twist. I want whatever she's having!
Congrats Rose Byrne, you're a dinky-di fashion whiz making Australia proud.
Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman all stepped up in style for the recent world premiere of their star studded movie, Nine. Braving the London cold, Kate went for a dramatic white embellished gown with matching platform heels, while Penelope chose an ice blue textured number and matching clutch. Nic kept things classic with a reptile-like suit jacket and pleated mini. Her tan shoes add a modern edge to the overall look.
Do you have a favourite look from last night's Aria Awards? Lisa Mitchell gets my vote - despite wearing the same dress as Gracie Otto last week, her mini sleeved number hit all the right notes. Fashionable, but with a bit of spunk. Jessica Mauboy chose heavenly white, opting for a J'Aton dress with matching Balmain heels. Most celebs kept their hemlines short, with cut out details featuring in many looks. Sarah Blasko wore her black puff sleeve dress with cute black bow flats, while Ruby Rose chose to stand out from the crowd in a red strapless ruffle dress.

I'm totally impressed with the Emmys red carpet this year! There was some good variety, experimentation, and color. This lineup of the bests of the night are all different; and it was really tough narrowing it down. I have a few favorites, and you're looking at a couple of them — who was yours?!
