The 2012 Do Something Awards brought out a slew of hotly-hued red carpet looks in Santa Monica today, reminding us that Spring is most definitely on its way. Kristen Bell worked a multi-coloured Jenny Kane Resort '13 sheath, Olivia Munn and Maria Menounos both opted for poke-your-eye fuchsia pink minis, Sophia Bush stood out in a tangerine floor-length number and Aubrey Plaza kept cool in cobalt. There was respite from the technicolour display however, with Lea Michele (in Armani), Giuliana Rancic, Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene all going for more subdued neutral hues. Last time we saw Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel, they were working coordinating looks in taupe tones for the Total Recall photocall. However, these leading ladies took distinctly different approaches to their red carpet looks for yesterday's red carpet premiere in LA. Jessica opted for a sugary-sweet frock from Christian Dior Couture's A/W '12 collection, designed by Raf Simons. Louis Vuitton cap-toed pumps and statement jewels from Tom Binns amped up her look. Kate on the other hand was dark and dangerous in a reptilian Armani Privé gown, black Brian Atwood pumps and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. Emma Stone wore striped Armani to join fellow Hollywood starlets like Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Rashida Jones and Katie Holmes for Giorgio Armani and Vanity Fair's private dinner in LA last night. Super stylist Rachel Zoe was decked out in black to pose before the exclusive meal. It was Katie's latest outing with the brand after attending many of its shows over the years. Katie Holmes' wedding dress was even Armani! There were plenty of men represented, too: Adam Brody dressed up for the event as did Josh Hartnett, Aaron Eckhart, newly single James Marsden, and Darren Criss. It was a date night for Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham as well as J. Edgar star Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers. Emma attended after a long day on the set of The Gangster Squard with her two-time co-star Ryan Gosling — the duo also acted together in Crazy, Stupid, Love. Katie, meanwhile, has been hanging out on the West Coast and shopping with her daughter, Suri Cruise, following their weekend visit to Tom Cruise on the Pittsburgh production site of One Shot. The debut of Katie's next acting gig is coming up, too, when the Halloween episode of How I Met You Mother, in which she plays the infamous "slutty pumpkin," finally airs.
