Editor's note: The following is a guest post written by Rachel Zoe, stylist, fashion designer, and creator of The Zoe Report. This week Rachel dishes about her favourite accessory.
In terms of fashion meeting function, there is no accessory more crucial than a standout pair of sunnies . . . or do not disturb signs, as I like to call them. They put the finishing touch on an outfit while protecting your eyes from the sun or concealing puffiness from a late night out (we've all been there). When shopping for a new pair, pay attention to the shape so you choose something that flatters your face AND colour — I almost always suggest neutrals since sunglasses are something you will wear every day. Also, keep in mind that you do not have to spend a fortune to get a-mah-zing sunnies. True, it is great to have at least one very nice pair — Oliver Peoples Balmain 2 Aviators are my ultimate fantasy — but there are countless stylish options out there with savvy price tags. For inspiration on a few different styles at a variety of prices, read on and see my current top five do not disturb sign picks . . . ! xoRZ
It's been a while since we heard anything about Nicky Hilton's clothing line, Chick by Nicky Hilton, but now the socialite is coming out with costume jewellery for Fall. "I’m a crazy jewellery collector. I've always known since I was a teenager that I wanted to do a line. Whenever I bought something, whether at a flea market in Paris or a bazaar in India, I've been collecting pieces," she said. Nicky has paired up with Titan Brands to bring baubles — wholesaling from US$35 to US$480 — with themes like Art Deco (inspired by her mother and grandmother's David Webb pieces) and Spike and Snakes. The collection will first hit Endless.com exclusively, then Nicky will take her goods to department and specialty stores. Are you impressed with these preview pieces?
For Fall, the unstoppable Rebecca Minkoff created a rockin' video to show off her growing collection of handbags, clothing, and accessories. It all starts with a sexy cool soundtrack, while gorge models show off Rebecca's Parisian-inspired dresses, tees, and separates. Meanwhile, chain embellished handbags, metallic finishes, and hardcore jewels inject Minkoff's signature cool girl style. We think it's très chic. Take a step into her beautiful boudoir and tell us what you think!
Urban Outfitters just got an extra boost of cool factor with its new Studio Collection jewels. Now, don't get these quality baubles twisted with its cheap(er) accessories line. The Studio Collection — commissioned by jewellery experts such as Calourette, Dara Ettinger, and Lizzie Fortunato — are made with care using natural stones, sterling silver, and enamel. However, expert craftsmanship comes at a price: pieces range from US$60 to US$483. Peruse through to see our top 10 picks.
Ridic-a-rama hotness (and one of my fave faces!) Daria Werbowy has landed the latest Spring/Summer '10 campaign for Australian accessories brand Oroton. Daria's obvi no stranger to big-budget ads, she's also fronted campaigns for Prada, Chanel, Missoni and YSL...just to name a few. Ana Maria Escobar, creative director for Oroton, says choosing the famous model was a no-brainer. "Daria was our first choice as the face for our Spring Summer campaign. She has an understated approach to fashion. Her attitude, her look — she has such an international appeal. The moment Daria wore our pieces the season just came to life, she was a dream to work with." Shot in Palm Springs by famed Australian snapper David Mandelberg, the smouldering shots combine the luxurious Gypset trend with a slightly retro, '70s poolside twist. The key pieces featuring, including a tan satchel, white monogrammed totes and statement silver and gold jewellery, will be available in stores and online later this month.
Designer to the stars, Alex Perry, has designed a new range of jewellery and accessories for leading Australian jewellery retailer, Diva. The range hits stores in August and will include all the trimmings of a classic Perry collection such as flirty feathers and feminine corsages. The celebrity designer has taken embellished elements from his own collections (think pearls and diamantes), favoured by the likes of Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale and Sarah Murdoch, and transformed them into beautifully crafted jewellery pieces in theme with his elegant and edgy designs. Expect to see a pretty palette of nudes and black in unexpected fabrics such as lace and tulle in everything from chandelier earrings to oversized cocktail rings. Prices start from $9.99.
Last night's episode of The Citywas called "Queen of Diamonds." So it's fitting that we zoom in on the girls' fabulous jewels. We're only four episodes in but the bling has been plenty. We're already seeing patterns — Olivia loves vintage watches and gold, Whitney is all about the statement necklace and delicate rings, and Roxy piles it all on. Here is Fergie from last night, modelling the stunning dragon ring Olivia pulled for the Elle May cover shoot. Step inside for a closer look. Photos courtesy of MTV

Hayden prefers the quiet limelight, reveling in her subtle yet sassy palette. For Fall, the shy beauty plans on entertaining us with a motley of hues comprising lemon lime, black, and light grey. Toned-down glamour at its best. For the wild girl, shiny leopard skin delivers added sizzle. Get a peek at all the gorgeous Hayden bags below and start planning your next purchase!
