2013 Oscars: The Lowdown On Reese Witherspoon's Glossy, Bouncy Hair

We called it early on during yesterday's broadcast of the Oscars — Reese Witherspoon's hairstyle was immediately one of our favourite looks.

We called it early on during yesterday's broadcast of the Oscars — Reese Witherspoon's hairstyle was immediately one of our favourite looks. There was nothing new about the style, but the bounce and gloss? Everything. Giuliana Rancic felt it too, asking only about the actress's hair when given the chance. Reese attributed her glorious mane to her recent pregnancy, something we know mum-to-be Jenna Dewan is also experiencing! While it differs greatly between each woman, the increase of estrogen during pregnancy can lead to rapid hair growth — hence Reese's ongoing fullness four months after giving birth.

"Reese's hair looks amazing because she would have followed a healthy diet during and after the pregnancy. A good diet that contains foods rich in Omega 3, fish oil and raw food all help prevent hair loss," says co-founder for Original & Mineral and owner for Original A Alan Buki. But that's not all. Get an insight into Reese's potential red carpet hair prep, after the break.

2013 Oscars Special Mention: Diane Kruger's Baby Blues

She looked a treat in her Giambattista Valli dress (hello legs), but it was Diane Kruger's eggshell blue nails that had us in a spin yesterday.

She looked a treat in her Giambattista Valli dress (hello legs), but it was Diane Kruger's eggshell blue nails that had us in a spin yesterday. It's a curious colour contrast, but at the same time, just so right. Yesterday's Oscars capped-off a whirlwind awards season, and we noticed a huge lean towards nude, taupe and grey nails — a big nod to the Spring 2013 trends. Now as much as we love an understated nail (and watching a runway trend come to life), Diane's baby blues made the perfect mod statement at Vanity Fair's after party. To copy the look on your own talons, keep reading.

Aussies Celebrate the Oscars at the Show and Parties

Our five Australian hopefuls went home empty-handed from the Oscars yesterday — Hugh Jackman for best actor, Naomi Watts for best actress, Jacki Weaver for best supporting actress, Rick Findlater for achievement in hair and makeup design for The Hobbit, and Dave Clayton for visual effects, also for The Hobbit — but that didn't stop them from enjoying and partaking in Hollywood's night of nights.

Hugh took to the stage with Russell Crowe and the rest of the Les Misérables cast to perform a medley of songs during the show's musical tribute, and Nicole Kidman also got up in front of the star-studded audience to introduce some of the best picture nominees. There were also a handful of Aussies scattered around the many parties that were thrown yesterday, including Miranda Kerr, Ryan Kwanten and Isla Fisher.
