Inside Collette Dinnigan's Exclusive Bridal Showcase

Yesterday, we were privvy to an intimate showing of Collette Dinnigan's 2013 Bridal collection.

Yesterday, we were privvy to an intimate showing of Collette Dinnigan's 2013 Bridal collection. Hosted at the newly refurbished Sunset Room at The Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, it was an elegant early-morning affair filled with Ladurée macrons, harbour views, canapés by Pete Evans and last but hardly least — a concise edit of Collette's favourite wedding designs. The designer herself talked us through the current season edit  and in the process reaffirmed Collette's title as Australia's first lady of lace. The finest French laces and the most delicate embellishments were beautifully showcased via her modern yet romantic silhouettes.

We were taken with two gowns in particular; a '60s inspired cotton lace number and a tulle-edged off the shoulder dress in Chantilly lace. Whether you're getting married or just like to dream, these gorgeous gowns are well worth inspecting up close. Step this way to get your front row seat. . .

Erin McNaught wed her British musician beau, Example (aka Elliott Gleave) over the weekend in a beautiful, French-themed B&B in the NSW hinterland region. The venue, Deux Balettes, set a romantic tone for the celebrations, but we have to admit it was the former Miss Australia's wedding dress that drew gasps. Special thanks to Example for sharing the beautiful pic! Erin tweeted last month that Sydney's bridal designer to the stars Steven Khalil would be the man behind the frock, and she also shared a sneak peek at her killer Giuseppe Zanotti for Kanye West wedding shoes! The Ultimate Guide to Spring '14 Bridal Trends

The bridal trends for Spring 2014 leave room to try something a bit different.

The bridal trends for Spring 2014 leave room to try something a bit different. While gorgeous white gowns and traditional strapless silhouettes certainly made their customary appearance, it wasn't all run of the mill. Vera Wang surprised with black-and-white looks, finished with dramatic black opera-length gloves. Oscar de la Renta dipped into the colour wheel for a true "something blue," Reem Acra turned out cocktail minis topped with veiled umbrellas, and Carolina Herrera debuted a sexier kind of wedding-day ensemble (think deep V-front necklines). For inspiration aplenty — and a closer look at what exactly the Spring '14 bridal forecast means for your own wedding-dress search — click on.

Keira Knightley wed James Righton in France over the weekend, and we were surprised to see her dress of choice for the occasion.

Keira Knightley wed James Righton in France over the weekend, and we were surprised to see her dress of choice for the occasion. Despite rumours that she was wearing Chanel, the bride chose to rewear a piece from her own wardrobe to walk down the aisle — a sweet strapless tulle dress reportedly by Rodarte. The first time we spotted her in this dress was at a pre-BAFTA bash in 2008! Watch on to hear the rest of the story, and let us know what you think about Keira's choice below.

Vera Wang's Latest Wedding Collection Is a Modern Dream Come True

Vera Wang's name is synonymous with "wedding dresses," and for her latest Spring '14 bridal collection, the designer didn't short on the drama.

Vera Wang's name is synonymous with "wedding dresses," and for her latest Spring '14 bridal collection, the designer didn't short on the drama. Inspired by architecture, Wang concocted a collection filled with texture, volume, and modern nuances. While we're used to seeing all-white bridal gowns, the designer pushed the envelope with strong elements of black — via lace bodices, tulle overlays, and even luxurious leather gloves — juxtaposed against creamy ivory hues and traditional wedding dress silhouettes. Suffice to say, this lineup was not made for the classic bride, but rather the cutting-edge, boundary-pushing type. See every detail from the collection in the slideshow.

Who Did the Dress? 12 Celebrity Wedding Gowns & the Designers Who Created Them

It's common knowledge that celebrities and designers go hand in hand — and when it comes to a star's special day, they tend to call on the couturiers closest to them to help craft their wedding gown.

It's common knowledge that celebrities and designers go hand in hand — and when it comes to a star's special day, they tend to call on the couturiers closest to them to help craft their wedding gown. Valentino Garavani gladly designed a gown for his good friend Anne Hathaway, and John Galliano likely dropped everything to create a dress for his longtime muse Kate Moss. It's also exciting to see designers coming together for the goal of a wedding gown, like Margherita Missoni and Giambattista Valli did to develop her bohemian-chic dress in 2012. Whether it's a classic, romantic style, like Sarah Burton's hand-beaded Alexander McQueen creation for Kate Middleton, or something unexpected and adorable like the pink Giambattista Valli gown Jessica Biel said her vows in, we love breaking down the design details of some of the most stunning dresses out there. Stone Fox Bride Serves Up the Ultimate Anti-Wedding Bridal Gowns

With a tagline like "F*ck weddings," you know you're in for a treat.

With a tagline like "F*ck weddings," you know you're in for a treat. US label Stone Fox Bride released its Spring 2013 look book this week, featuring designer Pamela Love lip-locking with none other than Jemima Kirke — also known as Jessa Johansson from HBO's Girls. While it may be considered a strong statement (with same-sex marriage laws being debated as we speak), it also simply highlights the elegance and grace of two women together, wearing beautifully crafted dresses. If you're a bride who essentially hates all things bridal, then Stone Fox Bride is your go-to for beautiful non-wedding wedding dresses. The brand eschews "anything puffy or fluffy, stiff flowers, and pink cupcakes" and is more for the backyard barbecue bride than the stuffy princess type.

We love how the line celebrates "looking like a more radiant version of your regular self," and prioritises being cool and comfortable over everything else. Each custom-made dress is hand-draped in New York and made with fabrics sourced from Italy, India, and France. Stone Fox Bride has a plethora of colours to choose — you can even dream up your own ombré combination — in addition to tons of lengths, silhouettes, and styles. With evocative style names like The Frida, The June Carter, and, of course, The Jemima, each gown has a cool, laid-back personality of its own. If you prefer floral crowns to traditional veils and long and lacy rather than big and poufy, then this is the bridal line for you. Best bit? They ship to Oz!
