All the details on the first Topshop store to open in Australia have finally come to hand — and we're guessing from the reader interest in this, the first flagship to open its doors in Oz will generate as much buzz as Zara did when they opened in Sydney. Exciting is an understatement! It sounds like the UK retail giant is going all out to impress Melbourne shoppers for the grand opening on the 8th of December, with a killer line-up of Aussie exclusives, in-store fun and celebratory extras. Read on for the details you'll need to know:
When: Doors will open at 10am, Thursday the 8th of December.
Where: The Jam Factory, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra, VIC.
What: The first Australian Topshop and Topman store with over 1600 square feet of product, including pieces that will be exclusive to Australia during the grand opening. The Melbourne store will be the third only worldwide (after New York and London) to offer a personal shopping service.
Of Note: The first 20 shoppers in line will receive $100 Topshop gift cards each, plus every hour during the opening weekend a $100 gift card will be gifted to a lucky shopper. There will also be an in-store photo booth, complimentary Topshop makeovers, and live DJ performances. Topshop/Topman 'zines and goodie-filled totes will be randomly handed out around Melbourne during the launch.
We're most excited about: Topshop's creative director Kate Phelan (of Vogue UK fame) will be flying in for the launch.
Topshop will also be opening in Sydney in 2012.
