Tallulah Morton Gets An Androgynous Makeover For Fallen

Pretty young thing Tallulah Morton gets a sophisticated make over courtesy of Fallen magazine. It takes a lot of femininity to make such masculine clothes (or lack there of) look alluring, but Tallulah pulls it off. Issue #6 sees her smirking in a top buttoned shirt, scowling in a high-shine tuxedo suit and taking a drag in a blazer and tie combo. It's a far cry from the flirty, denim clad Tallulah we saw in Wrangler's 70s themed campaign, but Ms Morton works the serious and sultry angle for lens master Nadine Ottawa just as well. The styling reminds me how good manstyle ensembles can look, and I'll be ditching my floaty dresses tomorrow in favour of a more masculine style. Are you inspired by this über sleek look too, or is it a too tomboy-ish for you?

Alice's Wonderland: First Flagship For McCall

There seems to be a flurry of big name fashion players opening spankin' new flagship stores of late. With the near complete Sydney Westfield opening Thursday in the CBD, Fab HQ has been inundated with invites to suss out the newest shop frontages from GAP, DKNY, Aldo and Sportsgirl to name a few. Alice McCall is the latest to come to the retail party, opening her very first stand alone store mid November in the reinvigorated fashion pocket of South Dowling Street, in Sydney's Darlinghurst. Although Alice's line is stocked online and in in over 160 stores in 10 countries world wide, this will be her first bricks-and-mortar flagship store. Shop front aside, we're also busting to see more from her 70s inspired A/W '11 Birds Of A Feather collection, due to hit stores early next year. Tallulah Morton Shakes Her Thang For Wrangler

Keeping with their '70s heritage, Wrangler's latest look book hits all the right retro notes. Local model Tallulah Morton channels the teenage nonchalance of a young Brooke Shields (hello, eyebrows!) in cheeky high waisted shorts and curve hugging jeans. Oversized denim jackets take us back to the '90s for a nano-second but look thoroughly modern thanks in part to the long limbs (and good derriere) of this hottie hailing from Sydney's northern beaches. Wrangler's giving us some great denim inspiration for Summer; we're particularly loving the indigo cowboy shirt worn unbuttoned and slightly oversized. Seems this season it's all about keeping it loose, and wearing your denim with some mayjah attitude.

RAFW 2010: White Sands

Tallulah Morton opened the White Sands show in a coral bralette bikini, setting the tone for the entire collection. Plunging one-pieces, harem pants and ruffled crop tops came out in different versions of the tangerine hue, some printed with florals, others ruched and embellished with beaded waistbands. Classic black was used for lace-trimmed bikinis in the cutest cuts in both tri-top and underwire styles, while snakeskin-printed jumpsuits worked as the perfect swim coordinates for lazy poolside days. Yes, this is my first year showing at RAFW - it’s very exciting and nerve racking at the same time.
Everything is different, this is it, it's full blown!! There’s more dresses, sponsorship, hair and makeup, styling, runway design, seating plans and everything in between.

What can we expect from Rachel Gilbert Spring/Summer ‘10/11?
Powerful, dominant, and stunningly beautiful pieces. This collection shows everything from structured and hard edge designs to juxtaposing soft, feminine silk styles that work harmoniously together.

You’ve dressed countless celebrities and are known for your red carpet-worthy frocks, what does the Rachel Gilbert girl wear on her down time?
A Rachel Gilbert girl is comfortable and chic, she loves a good pair of jeans, a loafer and blazer, and she knows no outfit is complete without accessories!

Any exciting models or celebs involved with your show this year - either in the parade or front row?
Both! Very excited to have Samantha Harris (Australian model and Vogue cover girl) and Tallulah Morton will open the show for a bit of bang! My front row is eclectic and very Sydney, everyone from John Ibrahim and Peter Morrissey to Didier Cohen and Leith Testoni.

What was your inspiration for this new collection?
The inspiration for the RAFW collection came from the diversity of women. Women are at once strong and full of love and passion. The combination of classic silk fabrics and intricate hand-beading using crystals, jewels, stones and sequins and embroidery complete and complement the collection.

What’s the first thing you’re going to do after RAFW?
Jump on the next flight to Bali!!

In a style reminiscent of Terry Richardson's work, Tallulah is shown jumping on a bed, sporting a wet t-shirt and getting crazy with whipped cream in an array of '80s style denim cut-offs, ripped t-shirts and Americana props. Tallulah shot to fame when she first appeared on the cover of RUSSH Magazine in 2005 and has since walked for international parades such as Christian Dior, John Galliano and Kenzo. Smokin'.
