Autumn ad campaigns continue to roll out and this time it's Stella McCartney's turn. She has recruited model friend Natalia Vodianova to front her advertising as she poses in key pieces like a chunky cardigan, statement LRD and tailored coat. The images have playful, child like font across them which is sure to create mixed feelings (or just confuse you). This is a second season for Natalia who also appeared in the Spring campaign. What do you think of these playful-but-serious images?
WANTED: Black pointy heels which immediately sexify any ensemble! I noticed this new-but-old shoe trend creep into my radar about a year ago when Kate Moss started rocking them with everything, and now, it seems other style icons have jumped on the bandwagon. I'm really wondering how my wardrobe has survived so long without a pair! I'm loving the sleek and sophisticated style compared to all the chunky platforms and futuristic heels we've seen around the traps lately, and really, isn't it just about time we got back to basics? Kate says yes. So do I. Do yourself a favour, start saving for the Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120 pumps (about $540 from Net-a-Porter), tout de suite!
Dear Mr. Testino, if you happen to be reading this post (very likely, obvi), I'd just like to put it out there that I'd love one of those life size Kate Moss prints you're selling off at the moment... in case you're feeling generous. You see there's a blank wall in my house which is just crying out for some Kate-love. Clearly a few famous peeps feel the same way given the turn out at Phillips de Pury last night. Pretty please? In the meantime, I've paid tribute to your handiwork by posting a few party snaps from the evening including Kate, Stella, Donatella Versace and more. See, I'm more than worthy Mr. Testino...
There's nothing like a Mario Testino event to draw attention from a fashionable crowd, and last night's soiree certainly didn't disappoint. The celebrity snapper celebrated his exhibition and auction, titledKate Who?, in London showcasing 18 life-size images taken of the iconic beauty throughout 1996. The lady of the night chose a simple but striking one shouldered black dress for the occasion teamed with Louboutin heels, while famous pals followed her LBD lead. Gwyneth Paltrow mixed white into her black ensemble courtesy of a sleek shirt, while Stella McCartney kept her look fuss-free minus a sparkly diamond bracelet. Model Alice Dellal kept her leggy ensemble decent thanks to some fishnet tights and suede heels. Alrighty then, which star look is impressing you most?
Can one ever have too many LBDs? My whole winter wardrobe is composed of them. They're so practical, timeless and exude effortless chic. Just like our Gwynnie at the Ralph Lauren pre-Wimbeldon party in London. How much do you love this sexy one-shoulder Stella McCartney black minidress (from autumn/winter 2010-2011 collection)? Teamed with gladiator flats from Givenchy, natch. And while I thought the shark-tooth necklace had had it's moment two years ago, I actually don't mind it here, it offsets her mini nicely and adds to that whole naughty'n'nice urbane warrior look. It was revealed yesterday morning that Stella McCartney is expecting her fourth child! The British designer already has three children, Miller, five, and Beckett, two, and three-year-old Bailey.
Stella has previously confessed to wanting to have more children and is one of four herself. She joins fellow designer Georgina Chapman who is also pregnant.
This isn't the only McCartney gossip this week. Over the weekend, Stella's photographer sister Mary had a top secret wedding to her long term partner Simon Aboud. The couple didn't even tell Sir Paul about their plans as they tied the knot in Marylebone in London. Simon posted a photo of their happy day.
Hold the phone peeps, Gwynnie and I are clearly destined to be BFF's! She rocked the same pants I'm wearing right this very second at the Stella McCartney Resort 2011 show just yesterday. Love it! When I bought my Current/Elliott khaki cropped trousers recently I knew they'd be a worthwhile investment. We all know that military detailing and army green is big news for both Winter and the upcoming Summer months, and slouchy chino-style pants are such a great alternative to denim. This little celebrity endorsement is just what I need to confirm that these are my favourite pants of the year. Wanna be JUST like us? Well you can get your hands on the same pair from Net-a-Porter, Revolve Clothing and Shopbop!
The Captain cotton pants, approx $250, by Current/Elliott.
We're loving Stella McCartney's latest resort collection - it's utterly covetable and romantic with a little sportif flair thrown into the mix. Think snappy blazers, sweet broaderie anglaise dresses, silky scalloped city shorts and elegant Paco Rabanne-esque shifts and jackets in mouth-watering shades of framboise, snow and peach along with the occasional pop of cerulean blue and navy. Our favourite looks? The sleek and super-chic botanical-printed frocks - slated to be a hit with beautiful, thin-hipped girls everywhere - or at least those who have access to a supremely healthy trust fund. Naturally all of Stella's stylish gal pals were present at the NY showing; Kate; Gwyneth; and Naomi, as well as power editors Graydon Carter and Glenda Bailey.
