Inspirational Ladies Celebrate the 2013 InStyle Women of Style Awards

Influential Australian women (and some men) came together last night at Carriageworks in Sydney for InStyle’s annual Women of Style Awards.

Influential Australian women (and some men) came together last night at Carriageworks in Sydney for InStyle’s annual Women of Style Awards. The glamorous event celebrated the achievements of women from all different fields, from entertainment to beauty, and on the white carpet actress Claudia Karvan said that was her favourite thing about awards like these — getting to mingle with people outside the film and TV industry. Many celebrities talked about the importance of making sure hard-working, inspirational women were recognised for their work, and also saw it as a great night to catch up with industry friends.

Among the winners honoured last night were Carrie Bickmore (readers’ choice), Rachel Griffiths (entertainment) and Carla Zampatti (fashion). To mark the awards’ fifth anniversary they introduced a Hall of Fame Award, and the inaugural one went to the magazine’s new cover girl, Nicole Kidman, for her continued career and community contributions. Unfortunately Nicole couldn’t attend because she is at the Cannes Film Festival — her mother accepted the award on her behalf — but there was still a star-studded guest list including Kate Waterhouse, Samara Weaving, Charlotte Dawson and Michelle Bridges, who brought along her fellow The Biggest Loser trainer Steve “The Commando” Willis.

Chris Hemsworth touched down in Sydney yesterday for a whirlwind visit as one of the special guests at the 50th edition of the Ermenegildo Zegna Wool Trophies, which was held at the Royal Hall of Industries last night. The star-studded affair featured the longest men’s fashion show that’s been staged in Australia, and a Zegna-clad Chris was front row for the action, along with Korean-American actor Daniel Henney, Hong Kong-based actor and singer Leon Lai, and Megan Gale, who acted as an emcee for some of the night’s proceedings. More than 1,000 VIP guests were gathered for the event, including Samara Weaving, Celebrity Apprentice stars Stephanie Rice, Rob Mills and Prinnie Stevens, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Charlotte Dawson and Darren McMullen. After the show the night kicked on with an after party, where celebrities ate, drank and mingled while listening to a set by Temper Trap.

Cute Candids Celebrities Shared This Week

This week in the world of social media, celebrities kept busy sharing their personal pictures from just about every location you can think of.

This week in the world of social media, celebrities kept busy sharing their personal pictures from just about every location you can think of. Lara Bingle took a fresh-faced selfie on a plane (and has never looked better, we might add), while Miranda Kerr jumped for joy during a visit to Sydney's Balmoral beach. Ricki-Lee Coulter had a New York moment in a yellow taxi, Delta Goodrem and Renee Bargh hung out together in Los Angeles and Johnny Ruffo copped a seriously unimpressed look from his co-star Samara Weaving. Stealing the spotlight from them all? Fifi Box, who shared an adorable picture of her week-old baby daughter Beatrix. Cute? You betcha. Click through to see all these pics and more!

Top 20 Best Dressed Of The Week: Samara Weaving, Miranda Kerr, Katy Perry & More!

With two of Australia's biggest fashion events falling in the same seven-day period, we always knew this was going to be a doozy of a week when it comes to style.

With two of Australia's biggest fashion events falling in the same seven-day period, we always knew this was going to be a doozy of a week when it comes to style. The Logies were off first — TV's "night of nights", where our favourite stars get to doll up and wear Oscars-worthy gowns. Some were incredible — and some less so — but Samara Weaving certainly stood out from the crowd, in the best way possible. Joining her on the red carpet best-dressed list? Laura Dundovic and Carrie Bickmore, in their equally impressive gowns.

And then came fashion week. From Aussie models and TV presenters to women who are recognised globally for their style blogs, the streets of Redfern hadn't looked this good since. . . well, a long time. Lara Bingle kicked things off with a cut-out number in her current go-to colour, black, while Nikki Phillips generously contributed to the colour spectrum with her mini-skirt suit set. And the rest of the globe? Miranda Kerr's street style won us over (again) in LA, Solange Knowles did what she does best, and Katy Perry? She toned things down a notch, and we think her dark, feminine ensemble looks divine. Take a stylish step this way to check it all out.

The Week in Pictures: Miranda & Flynn, Nicole Richie, The Logies, Charlize Theron & More!

We had plenty keeping us busy here in Australia, what with the Logies (well done, Asher!) and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia happening within 24 hours of each other, but there was lots going on overseas this week as well!

We had plenty keeping us busy here in Australia, what with the Logies (well done, Asher!) and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia happening within 24 hours of each other, but there was lots going on overseas this week as well! Halle Berry displayed her teensy baby bump when she attended a film premiere in Buenos Aires, while Aussie beauty Miranda Kerr held the hand of her bub Flynn on a walk in Beverly Hills. Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba flaunted their fabulous figures while on a girls' trip to St. Barts, and Charlize Theron and Seth MacFarlane set tongues wagging when they left a restaurant together. That's not even the half of it! Click through to see what else your favourite stars got up to this week.

2013 Logies: Best Dressed

As soon as the stars hit the red carpet at the 55th Annual TV Week Logie Awards last night, we knew we were in for a visual treat.

As soon as the stars hit the red carpet at the 55th Annual TV Week Logie Awards last night, we knew we were in for a visual treat. Knowing that Sydney-based designer Steven Khalil was working with a few leading ladies, we were pretty certain there were going to be some showstopping dresses making an appearance, and we weren't disappointed. Having trawled through all the looks, we've narrowed down the top five ensembles of the night — and yep, Mr Khalil's work makes two appearances. We had Carrie Bickmore's watermelon-hued Steven Khalil number, Jennifer Hawkins' slinky black Jayson Brundson, Samara Weaving in lacy red Steven Khalil, Jess McNamee's white Grecian gown and Laura Dundovic in fitted Manning Cartell. Five gorgeous gowns, no doubt — but who was your number one standout? Vote now!
