We're in Red Carpet Rewind mode as we gear up for next week's Oscars (don't forget, we'll be comin' atcha live on Monday with all the fashion and gossip). You've already voted on your favourite red frock of the last decade, but what about that other red carpet winner? Cool as a cucumber blue.

From left to right: Charlize Theron in Christian Dior in 2005, Maggie Gyllenhaal in Proenza Schouler in 2007, Emily Blunt in Calvin Klein in 2007 and Marion Cotillard in Dior Haute Couture in 2009.
It's not often I use the words 'naughty schoolgirl' in relation to fashion, but Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez seem to have taken some inspiration from the playground. What else explains the buttoned-up shirts, preppy blazers, ribbed jumpers and pinafore-style dresses which were presented to us for Fall? They sound harmless enough, but teamed with knee-high socks, leather bustiers, and platform booties, the look isn't as innocent as it seems.
After teaming with denim company J Brand, it wasn't suprising to see so many denim pieces worked into the range, updated with painted splats and grafitti-style prints. Fall's controversial fabric du jour — fur — also featured in a variety of coloured trims and jackets, and bubble-hem printed dresses added a playful touch to the overall vibe. I was a little undecided about this collection, but the green printed tunic and cute duffle coats are starting to sway me. See what you think in our gallery.

An unmissable trend for Spring 2010 was The Life Aquatic. Steve Zissou and crew would appreciate the multitude of scuba-inspired, palm tree-emblazoned, seascape-styled getups that swam up and down the runways. Spring always pays homage to beach life, but never so blatantly. Proenza Schouler's aquatic cool collection was the tour de force, and a selection of other designers included ocean-toned, feathered, and textured pieces in their collections last year. Early adopters? Kate Bosworth in the ray print dress and Kristen Stewart in mismatched cuteness. Goggles at the ready.
The latest Pre-Fall '10 collections have been released, and the forecast calls for neon, velvet, fur, draping, and structure. While most designers went down the posh path, Nicolas Ghesquière took Balenciaga back to the sporty trail. In contrast, Phoebe Philo's Celine (left) is more luxurious via feathers, sheepskin, and sharp outerwear. Proceed to see which direction Lanvin, Proenza Schouler, Alberta Ferretti, and Nina Ricci have taken for Pre-Fall.
Hot on the heels from UK reports which suggest the colour black is less than flattering on most women and will only highlight wrinkles (yikes), I thought it would be a good time to workshop how to wear bright colours. This may seem easy enough — what's so hard about a little yellow, pink and red, you cry? Well, quite a lot. Colours can scare the bejeezus out of us neutral obsessed folk, and rightly so. Clashing hues seem so right on Carrie Bradshaw and the runway, but on the street, not so much. Take note of our little style guide and make sure you rock a cocktail of colours with confidence this Summer.
Start slowly and experiment with pastel shades rather than heading straight for brights — lilac, aqua, pink and peach all provide a splash of colour and look pretty mixed back with denim or crisp white.
Consider your complexion. Darker skin tones tend to suit contrasting brights and neutral hues, while paler skin tones look best in deep colours such as red, green and rich blue.
Interpret runway looks to suit your everyday style. Clashing neon prints may work for Proenza Schouler, but in reality, something a little more subtle could be best. Mix dark and neutral colours with brights for a more wearable look.
Don't be afraid to try different colour combos. Aqua and red go surprisingly well together, as do purple and yellow. Be brave, experiment, and see what works for you.
Ease yourself into colours by starting with key accessories. A coloured shoe or clutch can add maximum impact to a plain ensemble.
Quite a few impressed, but 15 renegades stood out as artisans and advocates of our favorite industry. These are the tastemakers, trendsetters and troublemakers. Men and women, singles and duos, inspiration oozes out of these individuals, from their fingers, onto the paper, into the fabric, and, eventually, onto the runway. Let's take a walk through designer heaven and salute a fabulously fashionable decade!
I always find myself stalking around the shoe department.. even if I'm shopping for something as simple as a pen. You too? Well let's test it out! Take our shoe quiz to see how well you know your designer ranges. On your marks..
