Some of our favourite style setters made sure to share festive snaps while celebrating the holidays with friends and family this week. We caught up with Cara Delevingne, who made a rather convincing Santa Claus, and Izabel Goulart, who spent time hanging with her pup in the sun. Karlie Kloss got some makeup help from a little friend, and Natasha Poly enjoyed a fresh drink during a beach vacation.
When you spy two major fashion icons sporting the same colour on the same night, you know you're witnessing a fashion trend in the making. We're not being flippant either — we're talking designer and TV star Nicole Richie and supermodel Natasha Poly, both showing off different orangey-red dresses and a whole lot of pizazz. Then there was Aussie actress Bella Heathcote impressing us yet again with her chic Gucci ensemble, Kristen Stewart in a hot-off-the-runway Louis Vuitton romper and Lauren Conrad doing us proud in a beautiful leather dress by an Australian designer. That's not even close to all — click through the gallery to see who else made the cut in our Top 10 best dressed list!
To say it's been a good-looking week in the world of social media is a total understatement. Don't believe us? The proof is right here in the gallery! Whether they're models, singers, actors, designers or just people we've grown to love, celebrities were uploading beautiful pictures of themselves and their equally gorgeous lives left, right and centre. We had Miranda Kerr keeping sun smart on safari, Jess Hart taking in some stunning sunsets, Jennifer Hawkins cuddling up to someone who's almost as lovable as she is, and Bar Rafaeli cuddling up to the one and only Donatella Versace. Then was a wicked vintage pic courtesy of one of the most famous supermodels in the world, some cute celebrity friendships (who knew Jaime King and Lana Del Rey were BFFs??) and a whole lot more — get clicking to see the whole lot!
The 2012 Angel Ball in New York City last night drew quite the well-dresed crowd to Wall Street's Cipriani restaurant. The cause was charitable, and the gowns were gorgeous, with a slew of the industry's most stylish frocking up for the gala event. The model crew were dressed to the nines with Natasha Poly, Irina Shayk and Jessica Stam all opting for Roberto Cavalli gowns, Crystal Renn wowed in S/S '12 Zac Posen and Bar Refaeli showed some leg thanks to Pucci. Meanwhile Kim Kardashian went for a bold cobalt number and Solange Knowles showed some skin in a metallic design from Badley Mischka's AW '12 collection. That's a lotta glam for a Tuesday night. Step inside to see it all up close!
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West returned to NYC yesterday after a weekend trip to Italy, and they changed into their black-tie wear to hit the town right away. Kim donned a low-cut, bright blue gown to accompany Kanye to the Angel Ball, held to benefit Gabrielle's Angel Foundation, at Cipriani Wall Street. Kanye and Kim are often spotted hanging out with their pals Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles, but Jay and Beyoncé sat last night out. Instead, Kim and Kanye made the rounds with Beyoncé's sister, Solange Knowles, and mum, Tina Knowles. Also out for the charitable bash was Nelly and his partner, Ashanti. Bar Refaeli mingled with fellow model Jessica Stam before joining Kim and Kanye's table for dinner.
Kim was happy to be back in the Big Apple, and tweeted after the bash, "Lots of laughs at The Angel Ball with my best friends." Kim and Kanye had been in Europe to celebrate her 32nd birthday, which was Sunday. We marked the milestone by taking a look at Kim's best Instagram pictures. Kanye kept the fun coming yesterday by surprising Kim during their meal with another birthday cake.
Remember at this year's Oscars when Michelle Williams wore a Louis Vuitton gown that was "not quite orange, not exactly coral, not really red," but all-around amazing? Well, even though months have passed and the seasons have changed, that head-scratching hard-to-pin-down shade is still around, and making a huge impact on the red carpet. Just last night, both Nicole Richie and Natasha Poly showed up at events sporting the juicy hue — Nicole attended the FFANY Shoes on Sale gala in a high-collar macramé dress by our very own Scanlan & Theodore, while Natasha partied at the Angel Ball with the likes of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in a sexy knit Roberto Cavalli gown. Both women lit up their respective events, just as Michelle Williams did at the Academy Awards earlier this year — and we're betting that this bold, vibrant colour will be sticking around for another round of red carpet revelry.
If you're skipping a smoky eye because you think it's too classic or it's been overdone, we're here to change your mind. With the help of Kristen Stewart, Natasha Poly, Lily Cole and Doutzen Kroes. See, you needn't be confined to slate grey or black tones — though these still offer beautiful end results as Nicole Richie has demonstrated recently. Instead the modern smoky eye is all about colour: blues, metallics, rusty reds, chocolate brows and greens. It's time to think outside the box and make this classic style a bold beauty choice. Get inspired now.
