Sofia Coppola and Louis Vuitton are at it again. After a very successful first guest designer run, the director has released yet another modern-yet-classic handbag line for the French house. Here she is carrying the black style at the Venice Film Festival, but the classic carry-all also comes in grey, cream and brown. You won't be able to get your hands on them until they hit LV boutiques in October, but here is a sneak peek to get you excited.

Fab Ad: Bono and Ali Hewson for Louis Vuitton

The latest Louis Vuitton ad campaign has just been revealed and it highlights more than the French fashion house's new collection. Bono and his wife Ali Hewson star in the ad wearing designs by Edun, Hewson's ethical fashion line. The couple are carrying leather holdalls, Ali's being a collaboration between the two fashion brands. Last year, LVMH took a 49% stake in Edun and are using this ad campaign to raise its status. They were photographed by Annie Leibovitz who also shot Mikhail Gorbachev, Keith Richards and Sean Connery for Louis Vuitton. Are you digging this ethical/designer mix?

Louis Vuitton hosted a cocktail party on Rodeo Drive together with Vanity Fair last night with help from a few celebrity pals. Kristen Bell and January Jones both attended wearing the label, but from two different seasons. Kristen opted for a cheerful Spring '10 white and blue tie-dyed, mesh dress; while January chose a moodier, Resort '11 tailored blouse and pants look. The blonde hotties both look gorgeous, but I have to say I prefer January's sleek navy and black getup best. How about you?

If you thought Lara Stone's Spring Louis Vuitton ads were dreamy, wake up. The brand chose a precision cast of models, spanning generations, for its latest campaign. Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova are calmly coiffing in an old-school dressing room, each one thoroughly gorgeous in prim ponies, ladylike dresses, and luxe leather. The mood is serene and stylish and, notice, ample bosom plays a supporting role. According to Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s director of communications, "The atmosphere was very fifties, very elegant." Shot by Steven Meisel, the period set was constructed in a New York studio. Simple, yet stunning. Agreed?

Global Watch: Louis Vuitton Ad Banned in the UK

On the day of Louis Vuitton's star-studded Bond St store opening in London, two of their newest ads were banned across the UK for suggesting that the bags were hand stitched. The Avertising Standards Agency challenged Louis Vuitton about whether the bags were actually hand crafted and found that sewing machines had been used, although argued that the ads paid 'homage to the craftsmanship'. The ad in question (left) shows a seamstress stitching with linen and thread despite the fact that there are over "100 stages" in the making of each LV bag, including sewing machines.

Do you feel cheated by Louis Vuitton for implying their bags are all hand made, or is this just a whole lotta fuss for a whole lotta nothing?
