Too soon? We think not. Judging by Kate Middleton's ability to look every part the princess in the final weeks of her pregnancy (mint green Mulberry coat, anyone?), we know this perma-polished new mum is going to step out in a well-chosen wardrobe we'll all come to covet.
Already a style favourite, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has continued to entrance us with her stylish maternity ensembles. Her latest is another testament to that polished-meets-fashion-conscious aesthetic — the Duchess chose a monochrome leopard-print Hobbs coat for her final solo pregnancy appearance yesterday when she christened a Princess Cruises ship in Southampton, England. True to form, she accessorised with understated black pumps and a coordinating fascinator.
See close-ups of her sweet ensemble, plus some of our other favourite fashion moments from the duchess, right here. From her stunning teal Jenny Packham gown and Issa wrap dresses to her perfect Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen-designed wedding dress and countless tartan-print coats, it's virtually impossible not to fall a little bit in love with Kate's easy elegance.
It's not just the many Olympic sporting events that have got our attention in London. The star-studded spectators, including Kate Middleton, Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman, and Joan Smalls, are bringing their styling A-game to the Games, too. With a bevy of sporty daytime looks to pore through — Kate's most recent navy Smythe blazer and Adidas polo combo was so summery and crisp! — and more formal evening ensembles, like Nicole's sexy Azzedine Alaia LBD at the Omega party to kick it up a notch. Plus, we have to hand it to the America's first lady. She really knows how to dress with a respectful nod to her country's colours without veering into cheesy territory. To see Michelle's outfits in action, as well as the rest of the Olympics' best fashion moments yet, keep reading.
This week we were treated to a slew of Aussie expats showing off their style the world over. Cate Blanchett looked as elegant as ever in Givenchy's latest Resort offerings in NYC. Also in the Big Apple was Nicole Trunfio who put a demure spin on her sexy leather mini, while over the pond in London Kylie Minogue gave a gilded edge to her ladylike Stella McCartney shift. Want to know who else made the grade? Step this way to snoop this week's top ten, best dressed list.
HOW adorable is Kate Middleton? The Duchess proved that you can be chic and sporty, attending the launch of a sports initiative yesterday with Princes Harry and William at Bacon's College in London. The last time we saw HRH she was label-central wearing a chic ladylike Stella McCartney frock and a Cartier necklace worth a pretty $74,000 — so it was refreshing to see Kate was back to her high street tricks opting, for a fit-and-flare frock from UK chain store Hobbs. The check-print dress retailed originally for (approx) $179, but was recently reduced to a thrifty (approx) $88. Unfortunately, said dress has now sold out — such is Middleton effect! Kate teamed her '50s frock with a neutral woven waist-belt and taupe espadrilles, which she happily kicked off for a judo demonstration.
