The Valentino Autumn Winter 2013 collection read like a modern fairy tale, rife with romance, beauty and femininity. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli drew inspiration from the paintings of Flemish masters, and it came through most clearly in the modest silhouettes and simple red, white, blue, and black colour palette. Schoolgirl shifts were adorned with embroidered lace dickies, cuffed long sleeves, crisp collars, and faux front pockets; and for evening, those same accents appeared on a range of floor-length gowns, providing a more subdued kind of elegance for the Valentino woman. It wasn't all stunning eveningwear, though. A youthful sensibility was introduced via shorter minidresses — finished with scalloped edges and subtle colour-blocking — and through slightly tougher leather-and-lace numbers. To finish, we saw the house's signature red come down the runway in an off-the-shoulder gown, along with a parade of insanely pretty blue gowns, either lace-covered, embroidered, tapestry-printed, or solid-hued. See it all here.
Isaac Mizrahi is bringing his couture skills to the wedding gown with a series of six sophisticated gowns exclusive to wedding site The Aisle. The gowns, which will range in price from $2,200-$4,500 USD will be available to The Aisle New York members later today. Unfortunately this only applies to US residents (boo), but we thought it was still well worth checking out to see Isaac's super chic take on bridal. Needing some wedding gown inspiration? Paris Fashion Week wrapped up yesterday, and now that the last model has walked the last runway, we're taking a look at our absolute favourites in the eveningwear category. A highlight had to be Alexander McQueen, whose designer Sarah Burton modeled her Winter-white-clad models after the story of the Ice Queen. Or Chanel, where Karl Lagerfeld made the evening jumpsuit the main focus over traditional gowns. There were fun, flirty, short dresses too. We've rounded out the top 25 most stunning evening looks and put them all for you here. Click away.

Here's an unlikely trio you don't see together too often! Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Garner and Brooke Shields buddied up for the grand opening of the Casino Club at The Greenbrier in West Virginia over the weekend. All three lovely ladies chose floor length gowns for the occasion, but in three very different styles. Jess gave us a touch of modern love in her cream studded halter gown, while Jen chose romance in her Alberta Ferretti grecian-style dress. Brooke stuck to classic black in a simple but elegant ruched maxi. Let's here it now lovelies, which star looked the most fab?
Glee Hot Young Thing Dianna Agron frocked up for two events on the same day this past weekend rocking her red carpet finest. For the 8th annual TV Land Awards she chose a petrol-blue gown with grecian-style pleating and gold accessories, while later that evening she frock-swapped for a red (hot) dress complete with silver chandelier earrings and strappy black stilettos for the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards. Hmm, I'm going for rich red this time round, how about you?
Just when you think Oscar de la Renta has done it all; nailed eveningwear, perfected bridal, mastered cocktail — he pulls out a new trick. This time, in the way of Dynasty glamour. For his Fall collection, models including Abbey Lee Kershaw, Karen Elson, Anja Rubik and Sasha Pivovarova channelled '80s glamazons in floor-length gowns, pussy-bow blouses, jewel colours and fur-trimmed jackets. Ladylike gloves, oversized earrings and sparkle hosiery added interest to the high-shine looks, while Russian-style fur hats topped off some of the more casual outfits.
Front row star Jessica Biel was apparently so moved by the collection, she was left speechless. It didn't have the same effect on me, but I have to admit, Oscar rarely disappoints. Catch all the glitz from the parade in our gallery.
Kristen Stewart's been smokin' up the red carpets lately, sporting hot off the runway looks from the Spring '10 shows. Aside from drooling with envy, I've been applauding her bold choices (and silently tsk tsking her in between length hair, sorry Kris).
Surprisingly, for the LA premiere of New Moon, Kristen has gone all girly on us and opted for a floor length Oscar De La Renta gown instead of her usual fashion spunk. I know, I know - she's trying to toughen up the look with casual jewellery and minimal fuss, but I'm still not buying it.
Over to you guys - Are we loving or hating?
What do you think of Taylor Swift's sparkly gown for the 43rd Annual CMA Awards? It's definitely a beautiful dress, but I'd like to see Swift in some less mature shapes and prints. Show a little leg! Play with volume! You know, that sort of thing..
She may have gone home with the title due to her huge comeback and philanthropic work, but I'm not sure if she won my vote in the fashion stakes.
What do you guys think? Is this matrimonial gown floating your boat, or should she have stuck to her more cutting edge style?
