It may have been a short week (hooray for public holidays!) but it was as busy as ever — especially since Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is just around the corner! We were kept busy this week as we covered all aspects of the latest and greatest celebrity, fashion and beauty news, and as usual, we updated Instagram along the way! Fashion editor Ali was thrown into the thick of all things fashion, taking in showings by talented Aussie designers Rebecca Vallance and Gary Bigeni, while beauty editor Alison chatted to Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin about all things beauty (and squeezed in a selfie). The Best Runway Looks from the David Jones Spring Summer Fashion Launch
We've collated all of Miranda Kerr's amazing exits from last night's David Jones new season spectacular, but what of the rest of the catwalk show? In case your invitation went astray, we've rounded up the best runway looks from the department store's Spring Summer 2012-'13 collections so you can get a heads-up on what's hot for the season ahead. Think of the following as a refresher course in the runway trends we first saw at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia; neon, white-on-white, hot-house floral prints, statement suiting and bold graphic prints were the topline trends from local designers. Apart from Ms Kerr, David Jones also enlisted catwalking skills of Montana Cox, Jessica Gomes, Alexandra Agoston, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Alice Burdeu, Louise van der Vorst and Samantha Harris. Dont' Forget! Tomorrow is Jeans for Genes Day
Fashion service announcement: tomorrow is Jeans for Genes Day! We don't need much of an excuse to wear our denim to work, so throw a good cause into the mix and we'll be donning our best double-denim ensemble faster than you can say J-Brand-mid-rise-skinny-dark-indigo. Local e-tailer My Catwalk is offering another option if jeans aren't really your thing, collaborating with three of our favourite local designers Gary Bigeni, Rebecca Vallance and Kirrily Johnston on a specially-designed tee-shirt capsule. Jeans + white tee = a classic (and charitable!) combo. For $29.95, it's a chic and affordable way of showing that you care.

Combine two of this season's strongest skirt shapes — the wrap skirt and the thigh high split — and what do get? A statement piece that tempers clever construction with subtle sex appeal, that's what! This asymmetrical style feels particularly fresh thanks the sharp lines and architectural vibe. Styling notes; echo the streamlined silhouette with a simple racer-style tank or long sleeved, body-con tee to keep the focus south of the border. Add pair of minimal two-strap stilettos and you've got one fool-proof ensemble. Your Saturday night 'fit just got sorted!

The Nail Rock Designer Collection is available for a limited time exclusively on ASOS and features three designs from Romance Was Born, three from Ellery and two from Gary Bigeni. A mix of florals, graphic prints and pops of fun colour, there's something for everyone. Check the designs out up close now.

2012 MBFWA: Gary Bigeni
Gary Bigeni clearly had the blues when designing his Summer '12/'13 collection, as today's MBFWA offering was filled with every shade of the sea. Cobalt, aqua, teal and sky-blue gave a distinct Summery feel to a range that was equal parts breezy as it was polished. Easy separates, highlighted by the perfect man-style pants slung low, were presented in silky fabrics that hugged in all the right places, while unexpected pops of retro geometric prints and buttery leather gave just the right amount of mix 'n' match we all crave in our wardrobes.
- Colours: Sea-blues, tan, black and orange.
- Trends: Drapey separates, silky trousers and retro-prints.
- Key Looks: Raglan-sleeve tops and the perfect minimalistic dresses.
- Accessories: Tom Gunn sandals with metallic stacked heels.
- Front Row: Miranda Otto, Bryan Boy, Nikki Phillips, Street Peeper Phil.
