We've focused on the clothes, stalked the front row guests and caught wind of all the gossip. Now, it's time to zone in on the models. The Winter collections were filled with unexpected model moments; Victoria's Secret angels at Prada, Elle Macpherson at Louis Vuitton, and catwalk veterans Kristy Hume and Kristen McNenamy at Calvin Klein. But it wasn't all about familiar faces. Polish model Monika Jagaciak, better known as Jac, was the most requested model of Paris Fashion Week at just 16 years of age. Click through our gallery to check out all the model standouts from New York, London, Milan and Paris.
What better way to end NY Fall Fashion Week than with off-duty models who were snapped on their way to the shows and parties! Some were caught on the sidewalks around Bryant Park, many were photographed in the front rows, and others were spotted at the fancy soirees. Always looking gorgeous, obvi. Check out our slideshow for the latest model-off-duty action, and don't forget to catch all the best Fashion Week coverage from the week on FAB!
You don't go to a Ralph Lauren show expecting anything less than finely tuned American classics, equestrian detailing and rich, luxurious fabrics. It may seem a little tired, but there's always a place in your wardrobe for a little RL. For Fall, the brand sent floral gowns, velvet jackets, shearling vests and tweed suiting down the runway, updated by shrunken fits, puffed sleeves and statement accessories.
Fur-trimmed boots and bags will surely appeal to the loyal Ralph Lauren customer, while black embellished gowns wouldn't look out of place on the red carpet. Worn-in belts, fingerless gloves and knitted caps lent a modern touch to the perennially classic collection.
You know something big is happening in fashion when even Diane von Furstenburg is presenting more separates and tailored pieces than her trademark wrap dress. I know it's a little to early to make the call, but I'm getting the feeling that the ease and convenience of simply slipping on a dress in the morning is going to be replaced by buttoning up suits and matching statement jackets with shorts, blouses and flirty skirts come next Winter. Get ready to prep your outfit combos, ladies.
DVF played with textures, layering, and prints for her Fall '10 collection, introducing masculine tailoring to her feminine silhouettes. Flirty chiffon dresses, ruffled skirts and sheer blouses were all teamed back with structured blazers, peg-leg trousers and cropped jackets. Slouchy knits and cardigans also featured, as did heavy embellishment and sleek metallics. Mixing feminine fun with masculine power-dressing has never looked so good.
It's that time again! Which celebs have been hanging around Bryant Park lately? I've spied show regulars Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld, Rachel Zoe and Whitney Port, but have also caught Sophia Bush, Melissa George, Mena Suvari, Shenae Grimes and plenty of others hanging around the tents recently. I know it's all about the runway, but you have to admit, it's kinda pervy seeing what the front row wears too, right? Click through our slideshow to get a taste of who was front row this weekend!
Chanel Iman is a sweetheart, so it's perfectly fitting that FAB US caught up with her on Valentine's Day. Wearing a tank that proudly stated "I Heart My Boyfriend" the Modelinia magazine cover star arrived for New York Fashion Week with best friend and boyfriend in tow. Want to hear all about Chanel's obsession with Chanel bags — she even has a design idea for one, Karl — and who she's looking forward to walking for this week? Here she is . . . What's new and exciting with you? I'm just happy it's Valentine's Day and I get to spend it with someone I love and we're in New York. We're both from LA so we're going to make the best of it. And is this your red Chanel bag to match your Valentine's Day outfit? Yes, and I had red lips on, like my best friend over there (points to her), but I took it off because it smeared in the taxi. But I'm going to put it back on. And then it will come back off later when you're with your boyfriend . . . Exactly. For more,
You saw Chanel Iman DJ at the Sonya Rykiel for H&M knitwear launch party last week, and now, we have the goods for you, piece by piece. The palette consists of black, yellow, hot pink, and baby pink; stripes are aplenty, rhinestone studs sparkly. Frilly dresses, classic cardis, cuffed shorts, and platform shoes round out the rest. I know this is a bit of a tease, but hopefully it'll come in handy if you're planning an overseas trip anytime soon! For your viewing pleasure...
Let's face it, with a name like Chanel, it'd be hard to get it wrong in the fashion stakes, dontcha think? Kicking off our Models Off Duty special this week, (where we'll go through the wardrobes of the beautiful and stylish when they're not walking the runway), Chanel Iman's Teen Vogue-esque style is on our radar in a major way. Whilst stalking her style lately, we've noticed an emerging trend of key accessories mixed in with her everyday looks. Check out the piled on bracelets, bold handbags, and cool head-gear which feature heavily. The 20 year old half Korean, half African-American model likes to mix things up by playing with colour and experimenting with trends, and unlike other models, her looks aren't entirely focused on black, studs and layering. Refreshing? Yes. Cute? You betcha. Do you heart Chanel's style, too?
Who would your top 10 models of the decade be? The names which come to Fab's mind are Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, Stella Tennant, and Karen Elson. These ladies have withstood the test of time and continue to give us great work. Then there are the relatively new faces that keep things fresh, exciting, youthful: Chanel Iman, Lara Stone, Angela Lindvall, Natalia Vodianova, and Daria Werbowy. A dash of old-school, a tinge of new-school, and you have a group that's unstoppable! Check them out at their finest . . .
I love perving on models. Clothed I mean. Especially clothed in fact. Models have that uncanny ability to wear the most fabulous fashion in front of the camera, then look equally as inspiring in their day to day offerings. Boo - how do they do that?
One of my favourite blogs at the moment is photography site altamira:models off duty. New York based photographer Craig Arend snaps models from all over the globe, in between doing what they do best. This is a model perve-fest where you'll find pics of Anja Rubik,Chanel Iman and just about anyone else ever to grace a catwalk, in their everyday get-up on the streets. Craig's comments fill you in on the model's agency, plus their latest ad campaigns and editorials, so stalking them, oops I mean following their career is mega easy.
I love the way their outfits really inspire you to think outside the box in terms of styling a look together. Their mismatch of high end designer, chain store chic and casual hair and makeup is something everyone can replicate with confidence (and it doesn't hurt if you happen to be the face of Chanel, either).
