Celebrities on Twitter

Twitter went into overdrive this week after a string of tragic events in America, and some of our favourite celebrities certainly made sure to contribute to the chatter. Stars like Taylor Swift, Charlize Theron and more took to social media to share their sad — but lovely — thoughts and prayers, while Alyssa Milano appreciated the "company" of her followers. In lighter Twitter news, Rebel Wilson got everyone geared up for her turn as the MTV Movie Awards host, Erin McNaught shared some exciting details about her wedding dress and Firass Dirani called people out on their transparent behaviour. What else did we learn? Don't mess with model Chrissy Teigen. . .

When your Twitter feed is full of comedians, models and actors who moonlight at geniuses, it's a pretty safe bet that some of the tweets you read will be great. This week, Scott Dooley won Twitter with his doozy — and we'd happily push to get his definition of the word "selfie" added to the dictionary. Model Chrissy Teigen is upset about something (and we can totally feel her pain), Fifi Box has had a very awkward moment with her mum and singer Pink loves someone's sour breath (true story!). If there's one thing we can say for sure after reading today's Tweets, it's that Australia is one popular country! Whether it's the Madden brothers or Ricky Martin, homegrown supermodels or some of our favourite local stars, everyone is wishing us a happy Australia Day — and we're wishing the same to you guys! Nothing gets people onto social media quite like a huge event, and today has been the perfect example. After news of the horrific shooting in Connecticut broke this morning, every celebrity you can think of took to Twitter to express their grief.
