2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Alexa Chung for Madewell
Yay, I've been waiting for Alexa Chung to make an appearance at the shows this week! She debuted her collection for Madewell at an off-site location, choosing to parade her pieces as a live photo shoot where models lounged around amongst vintage suitcases, bunches of flowers and a bicycle as cute props.
This collection has Alexa written all over it. Striped tees, short-shorts, polka-dotted dresses, and denim overalls all made up the casual range, cleverly styled back with vintage-style brooches, waisted belts and fine jewellery. The shoes are also worth a mention as clogs and heeled-desert boots were paired back with thick ribbed socks. Loving. I've also excitedly spied two Australian models in the mix — Emma Ishta and Cathryn Edwards. Could they be the next breed of Aussie beauties making it big OS? Watch this space..
