Sydney to Recieve 1st Topshop Unique Pre-Fall Collection

You're probably familiar with the fact that Topshop shows it's Unique line alongside the big guns at London fashion week, but the UK high street hero will now be joining the international pre-fall and resort seasonal drops, too.

You're probably familiar with the fact that Topshop shows it's Unique line alongside the big guns at London fashion week, but the UK high street hero will now be joining the international pre-fall and resort seasonal drops, too. The Sydney store will be one of seven Topshop flagships world-wide to receive the trans-seasonal collection (stay tuned for Resort!).

The limited edition line-up falls back on the minimalist, considered aesthetic that we've come to know and love from Topshop Unique; featuring boxy-cut shell tops, chiffon-spliced blazers, bright slip dresses and sharp-edged accessories. Luxurious fabrics like cashmere, silk, gorgette and duchess satin ensure the fuss-free designs remain luxurious in the most modern of ways. As it's dropping into the George Street emporium next week, and with prices starting at $240 may we make a strong suggestion that Sydneysiders schedule an in-store visit sooner, rather than later?

Chanel Goes Scottish For Its Métiers d'Art Pre-Fall Runway Show

For Chanel's annual Métiers d'Art collection — a Pre-Fall collection that focuses on a signature aspect of the fashion house — Karl Lagerfeld transported everyone to Scotland.

For Chanel's annual Métiers d'Art collection — a Pre-Fall collection that focuses on a signature aspect of the fashion house — Karl Lagerfeld transported everyone to Scotland. Quick history lesson: Coco Chanel used to frequent Scotland in the '20s during her love affair with the Duke of Westminster, and consequently, her time in the country greatly influenced her designs during that time. Yesterday, Karl Lagerfeld re-created that special moment in Chanel history in true grandiose form with a show that took place at the Linlithgow Palace. Yes, leave it to Karl to hold a fashion show in the same castle Mary Queen of Scots was born in. With front-row attendees like Poppy Delevingne and Caroline Sieber watching closely, Karl showcased super-luxurious looks with gorgeous knits from the iconic Scottish cashmere brand Barrie Knitwear, sumptuous plaid and tartan dresses, and cozy outerwear. "It's the idea of Scotland, the mix of Coco Chanel and Mary Stuart — two queens of fashion," said Lagerfeld. As usual, Lagerfeld injected a modern touch into the collection via printed tights, baggy shorts, and '90s grungy military boots. The results? A collection we'd like to get our hands on ASAP.
