We spent some time with Miranda Kerr before the David Jones Spring Summer Fashion Launch on Tuesday night, and one of the things we've always wanted to ask her is how she gets that perfect red-orange lip. Whether she's walking out of the airport or carrying baby Flynn around New York, Miranda's bright lipstick makes her look both polished and super duper fresh-faced. In the midst of the mayhem backstage at the David Jones Spring Summer Fashion Launch, I spent some time chatting to three of Australia's most in-demand models before they hit the runway. When I was thinking about what to ask Samantha Harris, Montana Cox and Jessica Gomes, my mind kept coming back to products. After all, who doesn't want to know what models use to look like, well, models? The girls gave me their top picks for everything from foundation to mascara, bronzer and their favourite fragrance — get clicking!

We got all stalkerish on Montana Cox on Tuesday night, following her from the dress rehearsal to the hair and makeup chair to the backstage change room. Disclaimer: we're not usually this creepy. You see, we had an interview scheduled with the Australia's Next Top Model winner prior to the David Jones Spring Summer fashion launch, but because the whole shebang was running a wee bit late the schedule went slightly awry. We finally cornered Ms Cox, and she graciously ignored our single-white-female behaviour long enough to play a little game of "finish my sentence." From the stunner's current designer bag of choice, to her New York fashion week plans, to go-to skinny jeans brand, we grilled her quickly then left her alone (at last). Thanks for being such a good sport, Monty!

We were busy little bees yesterday, as BellaSugar ed Alison, and FabSugar ed Ali, spent the afternoon and well into the night quizzing models including Miranda Kerr, Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox about their fashion and beauty must-haves and lust-haves from backstage at the David Jones Spring Summer Fashion Launch. We were there for all the action before the runway show, and in a flurry of front row celebrities, makeup, shoes, celebrities, beautiful bodies and even more beautiful clothes, we emerged with some pretty cool behind-the-scenes snaps. Miranda Kerr was front and centre on the runway during last night’s David Jones fashion launch at the Elizabeth Street store in Sydney, and plenty of Australia’s biggest stars turned out to see her in action. The front row was awash with glamorous couples, including Jodi Gordon and Braith Anasta, Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello, and recently-married Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson, who were all seated next to each other. Lara Bingle kept her style low-key, but still sexy, in a black dress with sheer panels, and while Kyly Clarke, the wife of her ex-fiancé Michael Clarke, was also there, the two apparently didn’t cross paths. Swimwear designer and David Jones ambassador Megan Gale looked statuesque in a floral strapless dress, Everybody Dance Now dance master Kelly Rowland made a surprise appearance, and models Montana Cox, Samantha Harris and Jessica Gomes managed to fit in a quick photo on the media wall before joining Miranda on the catwalk.

What a night! The David Jones Spring Summer fashion launch is always a style spectacular — and not solely because of the new season threads storming the runway. Sydney's style set frocked up for the department store's schmick runway show on level seven at the Castlereagh Street flagship store. Front-row regulars Kate Waterhouse (in Josh Goot), Vogue's Christine Centenera and Lara Bingle (in Dion Lee) came a draw for best dressed, but honourable mentions must go out to Jodi Gordon, designer Camilla Freeman-Topper and Jodhi Meares. From the big-name models to DJs stable of designers, from the editors to the celeb-crew; it really was the who's who of the industry! Last night's David Jones Spring Summer Fashion Launch was a beauty feast for the eyes. Models including Miranda Kerr, Montana Cox, Jessica Gomes, Louise Van Der Vorst and Samantha Harris walked the runway to show off the department store's Spring/Summer '12 fashion offerings, but we were most excited to see the two exclusive beauty looks Napoleon Perdis put together hit the runway. The looks were held up by a flawless complexion against bright matte colours — namely spearmint eyes and red lips. His modern take on colour really speaks to the upcoming season's punchy and powerful fashion trends.
