Many of music's biggest names stepped out at the American Music Awards in LA tonight. The ladies, including Kelly Rowland, Christina Aguilera, and Nicki Minaj brought the glamour with their red carpet looks. Performer and nominee Taylor Swift sparkled in a Zuhair Murad mini while Pink, who arrived with husband Carey Hart, went long in Catherine Deane. Carrie Underwood chose a colourful lace look by Abed Mahfouz before taking the stage to perform during the show. Gwen Stefani switched things up in an embellished Balmain jacket and leather leggings as she arrived with her No Doubt bandmates and Jordin Sparks showed skin in a cut-out Etro gown on the arm of boyfriend Jason Derulo. Justin Bieber brought his mum to the show after spending time with on-again girlfriend Selena Gomez over the weekend. The AMAs took over LA's Nokia Theatre tonight, with the biggest names in music stepping out for the celebration. Many of the stars shared some of their behind-the-scenes fun, too. The American Music Awards are going down in LA this evening. Usher opened a show that went on to feature many performances from some of the biggest stars in the music industry. Gwen Stefani and the guys of No Doubt put on a show, as did Kelly Clarkson and Ke$ha. Taylor Swift performed her soon-to-be-released single "I Knew You Were Trouble." She changed out of the gold Zuhair Murad number she wore on the red carpet and into her second dress of the evening. Justin Bieber hit the stage too for a rendition of his songs "As Long As You Love Me" and "Beauty and a Beat." Pink put on an acrobatic, energetic performance, and Christina Aguilera wore a tiny costume to sing a song of her own.
As for the awards, Taylor and Justin were big winners. After arriving with his mum, Pattie Mallette, as his date, Justin picked up an early honour for best pop or rock male artist. He was also recognised with favourite pop/rock album. Taylor, meanwhile, was crowned favourite female country artist. Taylor Swift showed off her legs in a short gold number on the American Music Awards red carpet in LA this afternoon. Taylor is a nominee this evening, and she'll also be performing a number off her smash hit album Red. Taylor broke from singing about her own exes to console her friend Selena Gomez this weekend. Taylor and Selena went out for a girlfriends dinner on Saturday evening, just one day after Selena's troubled date with Justin Bieber that didn't end well. Selena had been expected to attend the awards as well, though it's yet to be seen whether she'll opt to avoid any confrontation with Justin instead. As for Taylor's love life, she may have a new man — she's been seen hanging out with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles. At 18, he'd be another younger man for the 22-year-old Taylor, but that hasn't held her back in the past.
Taylor turned up the volume — and shortened the hemline — at the American Music Awards in an embroidered Zuhair Murad gown. She let the gold bead work and floral embellishments shine with her hair sleekly pulled back, revealing gold earrings which pick up on the metallics of her mini.
