Carey Mulligan we salute you! We first fell in love with the elfin actress in An Education, but it's her out of the box elegance that's kept her in our favourites pile. 2010 really showcased Carey's style, and we saw her in fabulous frock after fabulous frock on the red carpet. Never one to flash the flesh, Carey's signature look is lady like all the way, and her liking for longer hemlines, full skirted frocks and nipped in waists only added fuel to the Mad Men craze.

Rocking stand out looks from Miu Miu, Lanvin, Proenza Schouler, Vionnet, Christopher Kane, Prada and Chanel, Miss Mulligan always manages to inject her own gamine quirk into her high fashion ensembles. It's easy to attribute her stand out style to her cute cropped do, but we think it's more than that. It's the quirky-cute mixed with 1950s polish that sets Carey apart from the pack, best exemplified by the gorgeous Prada gown she wore to this year's Oscars. So with much pleasure we announce the 2010 Best Dressed New Kid On The Block is.....Carey Mulligan!

You know I'm a fan of the charity work that Victoria Beckham does on behalf of all the short-haired ladies worldwide—showing mere mortals how versatile short styles can actually be. And while this look isn't exactly new (in fact it's a dead ringer for her Oscar's hairstyle), it's still worthy of noting for its fabulousness. I do love a bit of a tease when it comes to up 'dos—it saves them looking all dated and harsh; but I'm not a fan of the chav-tastic (Bogan-esque) front strands. Euch. Mrs B has been rocking a smoky eye for quite some time now, so it's no surprise that she showed up to her Moscow store opening with da-dah, a smoky eye, but I'd prefer to see a red lip, wouldn't you? What say you: winner or sinner?

Cosmetic surgeons are now saying that chewing gum is the latest thing to cause wrinkles. US-based cosmetic surgeon Dr. Hema Sundaram believes that “chewing gum promotes muscle over-activity and potentially breaks down support tissue within the skin, contributing to volume loss and perhaps loss of skin elasticity.” Maybe that's Sam's Grand Master Plan, though? Wrinkles + Payless shoes = totally unpretentious guy, no?
