After some close and very serious analysis, we think we've cracked the off-duty style code. Step inside to see how they do it, shop the core items, then pepare to get papped!
Buying for mum can be tough, especially if she isn't really into wearing makeup or nuts about skincare. Fragrance is the perfect choice for those stuck at a crossroads when it comes to gift-giving, and we've got 10 newbies to set your (and your mums!) nostrils aflame.
With this year's punk theme, we were expecting something dramatic from Miley Cyrus, and we got it with her full-length Marc Jacobs gown — in fishnet, no less. It wasn't just the dress, though. Miley embraced the look head to toe with spiked blonde hair, red lips, studded and spiked bangles, and multiple earrings. How'd she do?

Miley Cyrus encompassed the true punk spirit when she walked the red carpet at the 2013 Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC today wearing a body-hugging fishnet look by Marc Jacobs and her hair in dramatic spikes. Miley's trip to fashion's biggest bash comes after a big weekend of news for the young star. She revealed on her brand-new Instagram account that she has earned the No. 1 spot in Maxim's annual Hot 100 list, beating out celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Mila Kunis. Be sure to sound off on Miley's red carpet look in our 2013 Met Gala red carpet polls.
Nope, that headline is not a typo — and we're not tossing the term "designer" around lightly, either. Lately, a slew of our all-time favourite labels (Proenza Schouler, Balenciaga, Kenzo, et al) have been all over versatile pouches — purses, if you like — that we can't get enough of. Rarely coming in at over 20cm in length, these petite beauties are hard workers: use it as an everyday purse, a slim-line evening clutch, a cosmetics case, you name it, it'll work. There's never been an easier way to add a bit of designer luxe to your life. Your only problem will be stopping at one! See (and shop) our top 15 picks right now.
You might already be familiar with Marc Jacobs's scent Dot, and now the fragrance is getting a sweet flanker called Honey. The new fragrance comes with an updated bottle that converts the original ladybug print into a bee theme. Notes include pear and mandarin at the top, which melt into orange blossom, peach, and honeysuckle at the middle. Bottom notes of honey (of course), golden vanilla, and smooth woods round out the scent. Think of it as a fruitier iteration of the more tropically themed Dot. Honey will be released in the US in August, along with a matching body lotion and shower gel. The launch is just ahead of the release of Jacobs's first color cosmetics collection and nail lacquer line. Soon you'll be able to dress in Marc Jacobs from head to toe, and Honey is one warm-weather companion that's more than welcome. So keep your eyes peeled for when it hits the Australian shelves.
It was a big week in beauty and fashion for all our favourite stars, what with Paris Fashion Week taking up residence in everyone's calendars. Kate Moss walked in the Louis Vuitton show and later puckered up to creative director and good friend Marc Jacobs, while Karlie Kloss gave us an insider's look at her Alexander McQueen ensemble. Many of our homegrown stars were working hard overseas: Jesinta Campbell was rocking a local symbolic accessory in India, Stef Bambi was striking a pose in Africa and Miranda Kerr got prettied up ahead of a shoot. Also on a shoot, but here in Australia, was Home and Away star Samara Weaving, who showed us exactly why she's one of the Bonds bodies. There's much more to see in here, so start clicking!
Marc Jacobs has delivered a knockout Autumn Winter 2013 Louis Vuitton collection, emphasising the intimacy and luxury of boudoir dressing. With a circular set of hotel doors surrounding an audience that included Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain, models like Kate Moss and Lindsey Wixson showed off ladylike looks with plenty of sex appeal. Tweed suits with nipped-in waists had degrade sequins while panne velvet dresses clung to the body. The house's famous bags were rendered in fur and other luxe materials, leaving the logos off the runway. Click through to see all the photos from Louis Vuitton AW 2013.
Finding your signature scent is one of the most wonderful and indulgent things you can do for yourself. A particular fragrance can take you back to a special moment in time — as our publisher explains — but it can also reignite the fire in your belly for a loved one. Choosing a new perfume is fun, too, because fragrance exists to be worn, explored and enjoyed. We asked the Sugar editors what they smell like right now, but also asked them to reveal any newbies they might have their... nose on. Click through.
