We sure didn't see this one coming: Target inked a deal with William Rast to design a collection for its next designer collaboration series. The collection, founded by Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala, will include both women's and men's clothing. "The collection for Target was inspired by the essence of the William Rast brand — the iconography of biker culture and American denim heritage," said Colin Dyne, from William Rast. Price points are still under wraps, but it's sure to be way more affordable than the brand's namesake US$95 to US$595 collection. The line hits international stores on Dec. 19.
Despite her best efforts to go incognito, Chelsea Clinton has been spotted on several appointments to both Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta's studios in New York recently. This comes as no surprise given her upcoming super-secret wedding to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky. Speculation over exactly who and what the bride-to-be will be wearing has been running rife, with both designers refusing to comment. The likely scenario seems that Chelsea and her bridesmaids will sport Vera Wang gowns, while her mother, Hillary Rodham Clinton, will be decked out in Oscar de la Renta. The former first lady has often turned to De La Renta for eveningwear. How schnazzy, can't wait to see pics!
So, I was going about my usual business, stalking my favourite 4056 magazine sites, when a familiar face caught my eye. "Well if it isn't Larsy Bingle!" I said to no one in particular, and guess what, I was right! Lara was snapped on the streets of New York for ELLE's regular Street Chic section wearing a slightly dishevelled combo of Bassike tee, Ksubi shorts, Topshop boots and PS1 bag. She looked every inch the model off-duty so it's no wonder the international title zoned in on her street vibe. Considering the unwanted media attention surrounding her recent breakup with Michael Clarke, this innocent fashion pic may have been just what the fairy godmother ordered!
Naomi Watts is the latest celebrity face to front the Ann Taylor Fall campaign in the US. Previous Ann Taylor women have included Heidi Klum, Milla Jovovich and most recently, Karen Elson. The new campaign will start featuring in the September issues of major international titles including ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, Vanity Fair and Vogue. Inspired by Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, the ads, shot by photographer Peter Lindbergh, showcase a range of lush knits, LBD's, leopard print and Naomi's favourite, soft cardis. "I just melt into the cardigans. You can wear them all day and feel cosy." Ahhhh.
Anna Wintour and US Vogue may have kicked off Fashion's Night Out in New York last year, but this time round Sydneysiders are in for a treat with the event making its way to Oz in September. The worldwide shopping event, which will take place around 16 fashion capitals, aims to encourage retail spending in the CBD, namely, Pitt St, Martin Place and Castelreagh St in Sydney. An official launch will kick things off on September 9, where a mix of retailers, designers, fashion insiders and celebrities will help celebrate the Australian retail industry. Participating businesses are tipped to be pushing signage and special vouchers as part of their involvement soon. Kirstie Clements, editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia, said today: "We are looking forward to joining our Vogue sister publications by uniting Sydney CBD's designers, retailers, restauarants and bars for a fashion shopping event like no other." Can't wait!
I so called it.The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that Miranda Kerr requested four Collette Dinnigan vintage gowns to possibly wear to her secret wedding ceremony in America last week. This surely comes as no surprise given that Dinnigan has dressed many celebrity brides (including Sarah Murdoch) for their big days, and also happens to be stocked in David Jones. Continuing the Aussie theme, Kerr reportedly blinged up Orlando with a ring made by Sydney jewellery designer Stefano Canturi. Huzzah! All this waiting around is sending me slightly loco, let's hope some juicy wedding snaps are released soon!

Financial woes? What financial woes? It's been announced that cult label Ksubi is the latest designer store to open in Westfield's new Sydney development later this year. The new shopping centre will boast up to 250 stores including a mix of new-to-Australia brands, local chain stores and high-end designers. Ksubi already has two stores in Sydney's Paddington and Bondi, but this new location will mark their first space in a shopping centre. The boutique is planned to open on the fourth floor which will house an interactive window display and designer gallery. Wonder if Spanish chain Zara will follow their lead?
For all you Net-a-Porter fans out there, this video is just like a chocolate milkshake, only better. To say I am a tad obsessed with the designer-shopping site is an understatement. I not only rely on it for my naughty splurges; but it also keeps me updated on international designers and trends. Founder of the site, Natalie Massenet, has grown the business from a team of three who worked in a small Chelsea studio, to over 600 staff in a newly revamped office on the top floor of Westfield London. Impressive much? The Business of Fashion caught up with Massenet for a walk-through of the offices and to get a glimpse at what happens behind-the-scenes. Think photo shoots, designer deliveries and a Google globe showcasing the latest worldwide purchases made. Wonder if I'm on there? So pervy, so fabulous!
It was announced this morning that Miranda Kerr has secretly married Orlando Bloom. Congrats to the world's most beautiful couple! We're still awaiting details on the location, but in the meantime, I thought it woud be interesting to guess what the Australian beauty may have worn. We've recently gone through Miranda's red carpet moments, so it's easy to imagine her favouring something figure-hugging and slinky, but I'm wondering if Miranda would have stayed true to her off-duty style and picked something more classic and elegant. Would it be a local designer? Short or long? White or coloured? Modern or traditional? So many questions!
Talk to me, peeps! What style of wedding dress do you think Miranda Kerr would have worn?
