Collab to Keep an Eye Out for: Swarovski by Shourouk

Brilliant-cut fuchsia gems, sparkling fancy-cut emerald-hued stones and more bling than is decent to wear during daylight hours — that's what you get when you mix the creative talents of cult jewellery designer Shourouk with the global crystal powerhouse that is Swarovski.

Brilliant-cut fuchsia gems, sparkling fancy-cut emerald-hued stones and more bling than is decent to wear during daylight hours  that's what you get when you mix the creative talents of cult jewellery designer Shourouk with the global crystal powerhouse that is Swarovski. For the house's Autumn/Winter collection, Swarovski has taken a cross-continental trip, finding inspiration from locations as far flung as China, Venice, the Himalayas and last but not least - India, which is where the ornate aesthetic of Sharouk comes in. Nathalie Colin, Swarovski's creative director, said of the collaboration, “Shourouk has always worked with Swarovski crystals in her own line, so this is a perfect match. And her world, inspired by the jewelry of the Maharajas, fits perfectly with the spirit of our ‘Secret Treasures’ collection.” Before the killer collab drops in stores and online in July, we thought we'd share a preview of our favourite pieces. Stockists: 1300 791 599.

Rise Up! 1st Look at Preen X Aldo Rise

International shoe giant Aldo is jumping on the designer collaboration bandwagon, bringing high end heels with high street prices to our door via their Aldo Rise line.

International shoe giant Aldo is jumping on the designer collaboration bandwagon, bringing high end heels with high street prices to our door via their Aldo Rise line.  This is not the first time Aussie customers will benefit from Aldo's collaborative efforts, this making the joint capsule with UK design team Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi from Preen by Thornton and Bregazzi Aldo's third. Previous team efforts have included killer ollections with JW Anderson and Mark Fast. Let us be clear, this stellar six piece offering is not for wallflowers. Pointy-toed pumps spliced with snakeskin, sharp two-strap stilettos and no-nonsense hardware suggest that these heels are made for walkin', not talkin'. Selected stores nationally will be receiving the drop come August and, at a price point of $189.95, we're guessing they will disappear faster than you can say "Size 37 please."

Accessory of the Week: Bar Studs

Often, trends take on a more adventurous edge — like say, punk-themed accessories or vibrant ethnic-inspired pieces — so it's refreshing when things swing towards a more minimal aesthetic.

Often, trends take on a more adventurous edge — like say, punk-themed accessories or vibrant ethnic-inspired pieces — so it's refreshing when things swing towards a more minimal aesthetic. This week, we're zeroing in on the most simplistic ear adornment we've seen in ages: the bar stud. They're dainty, delicate and edgy all at once, and whether you like yours with studs, black diamonds (yes, please), or plain and simple like Ginnifer Goodwin's, there's a pair to appeal to everyone. We've shortlisted our faves to a list of 10 — click through to see, and shop!

Sandal Boots Sweep the Celebrity World — Are You Into Them?

Sandal boots first emerged on the Autumn/Winter 2013 catwalks, but it seems they've already infiltrated celebrity circles.

Sandal boots first emerged on the Autumn/Winter 2013 catwalks, but it seems they've already infiltrated celebrity circles. Anne Hathaway was one of the first to rock Tom Ford's black patent buckled sandal boots — which were said to be custom-made vegan — with her black taffeta Tom Ford gown at the NYC premiere of Les Misérables back in December. Rihanna rocked the same Tom Ford sandal boots in nude with a Mary Katrantzou tee and Siwy shorts during a recent night out in NYC, while Selena Gomez edged up her black trench coat with black Brian Atwood cut-out sandal boots for her appearance on the David Letterman in NYC. No doubt about it: this is an extremely difficult trend to pull off, so we give these ladies major props. Give sandal boots some thought, then tell us: are you into them?
