Russell Crowe gave Amy Adams a big bear hug when they attended a photocall for their new film, Man of Steel, at the Taormina Film Fest in Taormina, Italy, today. They were joined by their co-star Henry Cavill as the group posed for photos against the idyllic countryside. The three actors have been hard at work promoting their film, which hits cineams in Australia on June 27. They premiered Man of Steel in NYC on Monday and brought the project to London on Wednesday. While in England, the cast battled with the rain, which nearly soaked a Valentino-clad Amy. Luckily, an assistant covered her up with an umbrella, which she giggled about while taking photos. Before the cast headed over to Italy, they taped an interview for The Graham Norton Show, which aired in the UK on Friday.

It's been a big week in the world of celebrity tweets, with just about every star we can think of taking to social media to get their voices heard. Russell Crowe's got a list of demands for The Graham Norton Show, Natalie Bassingthwaighte has a lot to be thankful for, Kate Perry made one thing clear for her followers, and Ruby Rose stood up for the much-talked about Amanda Bynes. Amanda herself has had a lot to say, and she's got a message for certain people out there. Meanwhile, Chrissy Teigen has again won Twitter, contacting a whole bunch of celebrities to see how they'd reply. Wait 'til you see what happened. . .

Jackson) by these 140-character messages from some of our favourite celebs . . .

New Man of Steel Trailer: Superman Is a God, a Ghost, and a Guardian Angel

Director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is already one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, and the latest trailer makes me even more excited for it.

Director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is already one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, and the latest trailer makes me even more excited for it. The cryptic first preview finds Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill) struggling with his identity and his place in the world, and while this new one is no less existential, it does show a lot more of the supporting cast. We see Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman's real father, in the midst of his planet's destruction, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Clark's protective adoptive parents, Michael Shannon in action as villain General Zod, and Amy Adams as intrepid reporter Lois Lane.

Though I was initially skeptical of Adams as Lois, the interaction between her and Superman in the last moments of the trailer is giving me a lot more faith in her casting. I'm also loving the dark but hopeful tone of the movie, which could be a refreshing change of pace from the many other Superman films we've seen before. Man of Steel opens June 27 in Australia, but until then, watch the new trailer after the jump.

Happy Easter, everyone! We may be in the middle of a long weekend now, but this week just past has been as busy as every for our favourite celebs both in Australia and abroad. Kicking off the week with the Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles, we were treated to cute pictures of celebrities kicking up their heels, and cooing over baby bumps — like Selena Gomez and Katy Perry getting hands-on with fellow singer Fergie's. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth showed his daughter India some love while they took a walk together, and TV presenter Kylie Gillies knocked all the competition out of the water when she showed off her incredible figure at the Prix de Marie Claire Awards in Sydney. Oh, and then there was the small matter of Ellen being in the country. . .

The Ellen Show

The Best Pictures From Ellen DeGeneres' Sydney Show

Thousands of Australians made The Ellen Show history on Saturday when they attended the first taping of the show outside of the US.

Thousands of Australians made The Ellen Show history on Saturday when they attended the first taping of the show outside of the US. Details of the pre-recorded show were shared on Twitter, and diehard Ellen DeGeneres fans made their way to the Opera on the Harbour at the Royal Botanic Gardens decked out in Australian dress, as the talk show queen had requested.

Ellen and wife Portia de Rossi arrived on a water taxi and were greeted by deafening screams. She had a star-studded roster of celebrities on hand to help with the proceedings. Russell Crowe kicked things off — literally — when he launched footballs into the crowd and gave Ellen and Portia with matching stock whips, while Jessica Mauboy helped a fan with a ‘Finish This Lyric’ musical game. There was also no shortage of eye candy — Ellen had the company of some Rabbitohs and Sydney Swans on stage, as well as underwear models who showcased fluoro pink versions of her famous Ellen undies.

There were also lots of competitions scattered throughout the taping, giving regular Aussies the chance to earn some cash. A version of Ellen’s ‘Know or Go’ game was set up right on top of the water so that contestants were dunked straight into the harbour if they got answers wrong, while a young Sydney couple were given $10,000 after playing a round of the Gold Digger game, where money flies around in a small booth.

At the end of the day Ellen hit Twitter again to express her thanks to her Sydney fans. “That was incredible. I'm so grateful to my friends @SwisseUSA & everyone who showed up in Sydney that made this a day I'll never forget.”
