The Swiss watch brand IWC Schaffhausen gathered stars in France for the Cannes Film Festival in the town of Antibes last night for its For the Love of Cinema party. The location was the luxurious seaside Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, which made for a picturesque night. Rooney Mara, Naomi Watts and Karolína Kurková were among the famous women who hit the red carpet wearing timepieces from the brand, as did actor Christoph Waltz and race car driver Lewis Hamilton. The group was treated to a performance by Jamiroquai's Jay Kay and dinner inside the hotel's restaurant.

Wearing a long-sleeved leather Balmain dress, Karolína discussed her bold choice and said, "It's not short!" She also revealed that her travels to Cannes were partially for work and partially for a family holiday with her husband, Archie Drury, and their son, Tobin. Naomi, meanwhile, wore a chic floral gown from Dolce & Gabbana. She told us on the red carpet that when in the South of France, she dresses the part. Though her day-to-day choices aren't fancy, she ups the fashion ante even more than usual for premieres and events at the festival's iconic Palais.

On the heels of Naomi Watts's bold Alexander McQueen sheath at the weekend's premiere of Sunlight Jr., Kate Hudson continued the red carpet glamour in a body-conscious Jenny Packham sheath at yesterday's premiere of The Reluctant Fundamentalist. Wannabe stylists: listen up, because these are the industry insiders you need to know about. The Hollywood Reporter has for the third time published it's now annual list of the most powerful stylists in Hollywood, ranking these celebrity helpers from one to 25 in order of influence. Rachel Zoe slipped from her top spot two years ago to number three, Zoe Saldana's go-to girl Kate Flannery scored second billing and Leslie Fremar, who is responsible for Julianne Moore's always-impeccable style, took out the top spot. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner showed love on Sunday afternoon at the John Varvatos 10th annual Stuart House Benefit. Ben and Jen were the day's co-chairs, and they arrived together, posing for pictures separately and side by side, before heading into the event and taking the stage to help raise funds for Stuart House, a rape treatment centre. Ben welcomed the time with his wife, telling reporters that he's been relaxing with his family since winning best picture for Argo. He said, "I've been able to really just enjoy my good fortune in the last couple of weeks and sit back and kind of just take it in and not do anything, just eat ice cream on the couch. It's been a really nice time to hang out with my wife and that sort of thing, so we're just enjoying it."

They were among the many celebrity couples who turned out for the bash. Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber looked right at home in the California sunshine, as did Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. Joe Manganiello made the rounds with girlfriend Bridget Peters, though Nina Dobrev was without her boyfriend and Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder.

Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie and Olivia Wilde have all given it a red-hot go, and we've gotta say, we love the edgy twist they're adding to this classic colour combination. Black and white is one of the freshest 2013 trends, and celebs and street stylers alike have already started embracing the chic duo. Some of our favourite black-and-white style moments so far are when Jessica Alba worked a black and white pairing at the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week, Solange Knowles performed in a mod pairing, and Miranda Kerr got classic in a white dress and black coat in NYC. On the final day of the collections, we spotted chic arrivals including Miu Miu attendees Zoe Saldana in leather pants and a camel coat and January Jones in a mod ensemble. Naomi Watts headed to Louis Vuitton in fresh white, Jessica Chastain popped up looking as sophisticated as ever at the Moncler Gamme Rouge show, and Kate Moss was spotted in her signature fur coat outside the shows. With a circular set of hotel doors surrounding an audience that included Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain, models like Kate Moss and Lindsey Wixson showed off ladylike looks with plenty of sex appeal. Tweed suits with nipped-in waists had degrade sequins while panne velvet dresses clung to the body.
