Today's CFDA Awards will mean accolades for deserving designers and, for us, pitch-perfect outfits to fall for. Until photos from this year's ceremony are in, we'll satiate ourselves with taking a look back. From Blake Lively's hot-pink sheath to Jessica Alba's bold colour-blocked gown and Lady Gaga's dramatic black sheer creation, there's a lot to be said for mining inspiration from the past. See all the looks that stayed in our minds.
I know you've been secretly awaiting a peek at Machete Kills, the sequel to 2010's violent campfest Machete, so here it is! Danny Trejo returns as the terrifying ex-Federale along with Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba, only this time, they have company. Amber Heard, Mel Gibson, Sofia Vergara, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Charlie "Carlos Estevez" Sheen have all joined up. This time, Machete is battling a dangerous arms dealer who wants to launch a weapon into space. If you think it can't get much campier than that plot, wait until you see Vergara's wardrobe.
This actually seems more like a fever dream that Charlie Sheen is having than a real movie, but I'll go with it. The trailer doesn't go much into plot description, but it does offer a mélange of cast members. I genuinely can't tell if this looks like the most hilarious movie ever, or the worst. Thoughts? Check out the trailer for Machete Kills, out Oct. 3, after the jump.
Yesterday we revealed makeup maestro Val Garland's makeup and beauty tips, but now it's time to learn about The Famous People. This is the lady who created Lady Gaga's Born This Way album cover makeup look and can call Kate Moss and Mario Testino friends. Remember the "good Kate, bad Kate" W Magazine covers? That was Val. And what about Lady Gaga stripped bare for US Harper's Bazaar? Yep, that was Val, too. Thousands of questions but only a minute to ask — keep reading.
Lady Gaga is turning 27 today! The adventurous singer's style has evolved from blunt bangs and thick lashes to facial horns and super-sharp talons. But as always with Lady G, you never quite know what you're going to get. Sure, her looks have definitely gotten more and more outrageous as time has gone by, but every now and then she throws a more traditional style into the mix, proving that there's no end to her beauty portfolio. There's multi-coloured hair, crazy eyeshadow art, long flowing locks and even a short stint as a man — whatever she's doing with her hair and makeup, Gaga does it well. Celebrate her big day by checking out some of her most memorable looks here!
Nothing tells us more about celebrities than their Twitter accounts. From detailing their daily lives to keeping us entertained with jokes and some very astute observations, there's much to learn from our favourite stars on social media. This week, a famous father and his (almost-equally) famous daughter both landed in our gallery — obviously humour runs in the family. Lady Gaga cleared up a rumour surrounding a nasty court case she's involved in, and Scott Dooley reckons he might be in with a chance with Miranda Kerr. Oh, and if there's one thing Lucy Hale takes seriously, it's ranch dressing . . . There's plenty more in here — click through now!
While most of celeb-land has been fairly quiet over the Christmas holidays (save for a baby announcement and some cool New Year's Eve celebrations), one place that's never silent is Twitter. While we've been taking a break, all our favourite celebrities have been as active on the social-media front as ever, tweeting well-wishes, funny thoughts, astute observations and anything else that comes to mind. Actress Lucy Hale takes issue with some modern technology features she doesn't appreciate, Andy Lee comes up with a uniquely Aussie new concept and Erin McNaught knows the solution to any problem . . . But that's not all — there's much more to read, so click through to check it out!
Sure, Twitter is a fantastic tool for gathering important news and information, but really, we love it because we get some excellent insight into the worlds of our favourite stars. This week alone, we've found out which celebrity had her fans break and enter into her home, which funnyman director has an issue with the Australian accent and why Julia Morris was having a tough time in her hotel room in the wee hours. There's also the cute young pop star who got to meet, you know, the queen, the fashionista who's currently sporting a broken toe, and the beautiful Aussie model living the good life, practising yoga at sunset in Mexico. There's so much more to learn — click through the gallery to see what else your fave stars got up to!
There were many events that had celebs talking this week — whether it was the devastating end to a tween relationship, the announcement of this year's Sexiest Man Alive or the fact that iPhones have a mind of their own, our favourite stars were forthcoming when it came to sharing their opinions on Twitter. If they weren't weren't keeping up to date with celeb news, they were filling us in on their daily lives: Alexa Chung got stuck in a fun-sounding hole, Jesinta Campbell described her perfect night in, and Scott Dooley let loose on Ed Hardy tracksuits. It's all in here, and more, so click through the gallery and start reading!
What a fantastic week it's been in la-la land! Between the Melbourne Cup, Barack Obama being re-elected as the President of the United States, the amazing annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, premieres and more, we were kept super busy as we tried to stay up-to-date with celeb happenings around the world. Aussie models Jess Hart and Miranda Kerr did us proud on the VS catwalk, while Jennifer Hawkins and Rose Byrne kept company with Mischa Barton at the race that stops the nation. On Wednesday, we were all waiting with bated breath to find out who would win the much-publicised American election, and we oohed and aahed over Reese Witherspoon's son Tennessee's first pics. That's not even the half of it — there's much more to catch up on this week, so get clicking through the gallery!
Lady Gaga wore a blue bandeau bikini top and printed sarong to wave to fans from her hotel balcony in Rio de Janeiro yesterday. Even though she’s been busy with performances for her Brazilian fans, Lady Gaga has kept on top of all the big news coming out of the US, including yesterday’s presidential election, which saw Barack Obama re-elected for a second term. She excitedly tweeted, “I JUST GOT OFF STAGE IN COLUMBIA!! CONGRATULATIONS MR. PRESIDENT @BarackObama We are so proud to be American tonight! YES!!! YES! YES!!” and had been encouraging her Little Monsters — more than 31 million on Twitter — to vote. The musician has also made a generous donation to Superstorm Sandy relief by giving $1 million to the Red Cross.
