Park City was bustling with celebrities this weekend as the 2011 Sundance Film Festival got underway. Buzz is on top of the latest news on what movies everyone is talking about and which are getting picked up, and we were hitting the party scene and scoping out what the stars were up to. The Bing bar was a huge hot spot with events from the My Idiot Brother bash to a late night Florence and the Machine concert, while the Variety lounge hosted their share of talent. Skullcandy and Express held nightly concerts at Harry O's, James Franco let loose at the Playboy event, and Adrian Grenier enjoyed a Chefdance meal. There was a lot going on, and it's just the first couple of days, even Oprah is here! Robert Redford of course continues to oversee the whole show, which has provided another excellent group of premieres — stay tuned here and on PopSugar Rush for all our coverage from the festival!
Gwyneth Paltrow coordinated her bright pink shoes and short dress to attend an event for watchmaker Baume & Mercier in Geneva last night. She's overseas after concluding her Country Strong press tour with an appearance on SNL over the weekend, where she performed with Cee-Lo Green and poked fun at Taylor Swift. It's been a busy few months for the actress, and it doesn't look like she's slowing down as she's set to make another cameo on Glee and has already started working on her next movie, Contagion.
Javier Bardem was quite the sprited cheerleader alongside his very pregnant wife Penelope Cruz at last night's Christmas Lakers game in LA. Javier and Penelope stayed in California for the holiday due to the airport trouble in Europe, and it looks like they had a blast despite the team's tough loss. The happy couple were even featured on the kiss cam and happily obliged with PDA for the crowd! The Staples center was packed with celebrities including Cameron Diaz, who was back from her bikini-filled vacation in Mexico with Alex Rodriguez in time to spend the weekend at home. She had Guy Oseary instead of her romantic getaway partner ARod as her courtside date. Jeremy Piven and Emmanuelle Chriqui had a mini Entourage reunion, while Kanye West chatted with Kris Jenner.
The Toronto Film Festival added even more famous faces to its already all-star roster with this latest set of premieres, photo calls, and red carpet arrivals. Rachel McAdams signed autographs for fans on her way into a screening of Beautiful Boy last night, while Marion Cotillard joined her Little White Lies costars at their press conference. Carey Mulligan was on hand to talk about Never Let Me Go, while boyfriend Shia LaBeouf has been lying low elsewhere in the city before their Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps promotional duties kick into full gear. Ryan Reynolds touched down over the weekend and went with a put-together preppy look at today's Buried press conference with director Rodrigo Cortes, rounding out the handsome set of stars who have showed off their work at the festival.
