Meet Your New Favourite Hair Accessory: The Bobby Pin
Bobby pins have long been the tools we use to expertly, and stealthily, keep our hair up. But lately they've been starring in the hair accessory game as accent pieces. Celebrities like Emily Blunt, Katharine McPhee and Chloë Moretz have been spotted using the hair classic more for their form than function. Emily pushed a single pin into her vintage coif at the Critics' Choice Awards, while Katharine and Chloë stacked a trio of pins each.
Stick to side-swept styles to make sure your hair doesn't look like you forgot to pull out your pin. All three women's bobbies were actually serving a purpose, too, and a wayward pin almost always looks like a mistake. As for colours, let the style dictate which ones you choose. Similar hues to your hair colour look classic, like Emily's pinned-back style. For a punchier take on things, try Katharine McPhee's colourful trio. Either way, you'll have a hair accessory that wins in both utility and chicness. And what's better than that?
Emily, Samantha and Helena Hit London For the Critics' Circle Film Awards
Emily Blunt and Helena Bonham Carter continued their awards season fun at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards held at the MayFair Hotel last night. Emily was nominated for British actress of the year but lost to Andrea Riseborough, who was recognised for her work in Shadow Dancer. Helena was this year's recipient of the Dilys Powell Award for excellence in film, which honoured her career filled with a variety of interesting characters. Helena's Les Misérables onscreen daughter, Samantha Barks, was also on hand for the event, but she lost the young British performer of the year award to The Impossible's Tom Holland. The big winner of the night was French film Amour, which picked up film and screenplay of the year for writer/director Michael Haneke, as well as actress of the year for Emmanuelle Riva.

Upping the sex appeal a few notches, Miranda Kerr hit the after-parties with a divine, berry-hued, split-to-the-thigh Zuhair Murad gown, while Emily Blunt took an edgier road in a slightly-muted gold Michael Kors number. But it wasn't all glam red carpet outfits — supermodel Candice Swanepoel rocked out in an Iron Maiden tee and Lucy Hale showcased perfect jetsetter style.
