Chateau Marmont was scattered with a pretty set that included Diane Kruger, Emmy Rossum, Lea Michele, and, of course, Anna Wintour at the party feting this year's finalists. And with an occasion that stylish, we expected no less than to see the stars wearing heavyweight labels — we're talking Rodarte, Cushnie et Ochs, Calvin Klein Collection, Oscar de la Renta, and more.

At the Calvin Klein Spring 2014 presentation, the clothes were a mix of black and white with colour sporadically thrown in, and the beauty look took a similar stance. While the face and lips were left relatively bare, the eye makeup centered on a brown smoky eye. Even the hair subscribed to a minimalist approach. Models' hair was left tousled from midshaft to ends for a glammed-up take on bedhead style.
It seems like the typically polished minimalist girl Calvin Klein knows and loves so well is letting her guard down for Spring 2014. The collection featured raw hems, fringe, and curtains that looked suspiciously yarn-like swinging from the runway (as if she'd started to come undone). Sheer panels and sleeves lightened things up, while the predominantly black and white mix was broken up by a blush pink and two hues of green — mint and emerald. The styling tip to take away? Early looks appeared to be drop-waist dresses at first glance, but the extended waist was really due to layering a long top over a knee-length skirt. It's the easy-but-chic thing minimalists can get really get behind.
We're practically hours away from the first New York Fashion Week show, and if you're not already counting down the days, we're about to give you ten reasons to get edge-of-your-seat excited.
From Australian appearances to hotly-anticipated after-parties, which big-time supermodels we're crossing our fingers for, and even a sneak peek at the collections set to showcase, this is what we're looking forward to next week. Let's go.
Instead, he'll be more selective about who gets invited to create a more intimate and comfortable environment. It'll also give Narciso Rodriguez, who overlaps with de la Renta's second showing, a little wiggle room.
Additionally, Opening Ceremony will celebrate its New York Fashion Week runway debut with a pop-up market hosted at Pier 57. The market will play host to fashion vendors like Rihanna for River Island and food vendors like Asia Dog and cronut maker Dominique Ansel. There will even be a pop-up salon from Estée Lauder. "It's our version of giving guests the experience not only the day of the show," said the retailer's cofounder Carol Lim. "They can see curated fashion products and food. We thought, 'Why not extend it for the entire Fashion Week?'"
But Oscar and Opening Ceremony aren't the only brands shaking things up this Fashion Week. Read on to see which of our other favorite fashion brands are doing things differently for Spring 2014.
This week's most stylish outfits came in just about every form imaginable. From covered up and cool (like Olivia Palermo and Julianne Hough) to slinky splits and sex appeals (like Selena Gomez and Ashley Madekwe), our favourite stars had every kind of look covered. Lily Collins continued to dominate the fashion scene, this time wearing a cool Australian label paired with Christian Louboutin heels, and Amber Heard tried out a less-scary version of the midriff trend, in an oversize ensemble we kind of want in our wardrobes.
