Banana Republic Does Another Designer Collaboration: Milly!

The new year is already bringing new designer collaborations to look forward to, namely a 60-plus-item men's and women's collection from Milly's Michelle Smith for Banana Republic. While a special collection is nothing new for the retailer, who has brought television- and film-inspired collaborations to the masses — drawing on the dramatic period fashion of both Mad Men and Anna Karenina, this is an exciting way to give Milly a much broader audience. Smith was ready for the opportunity and a challenge (did we mention this is the first time the designer has tackled menswear?), but she says, "It's a very positive, happy collection. The colours and patterns capture the modern spirit of Summer." What else can you expect? A new print created just for the capsule, six updated Milly prints, vibrant hues, and the easy, breezy vibe of the Hamptons-chic beach lifestyle. The collaboration — which is priced from $45-$175 USD for women's apparel, $25-$65 USD for menswear, and $40-$130 USD for jewellery and accessories — hits stores in May in select Banana Republic locations worldwide and, thank goodness for us, online.
