Today's Met Gala was all about punk, and many of Hollywood's sweetest celebrities jumped at the chance to amp up the edge on the red carpet. While we expected stars like Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry to embrace their rock chick roots, seeing celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Taylor Swift and Allison Williams go for more daring ensembles was fun to watch play out at the bash. The Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art never fails to bring out the big guns — after all, where else can A-list celebrities, designers, models, and fashion insiders rub elbows, in couture, in one place? For this year's Met Gala, fashion's finest converged to celebrate the "Punk: Chaos to Couture" exhibition, which will honour punk's impact on high fashion over the past three decades (and counting). As is customary for this event, celebrities and models arrive on the arms of their favourite designers, and hit the red carpet with their super-stylish significant others and fashionable friends — so we're rounding up the well-dressed duos (okay, there may be some trios thrown in there as well) from tonight's rock n' roll-inspired red carpet. Anne Hathaway dyed her hair peroxide blonde for the Met Gala red carpet. In one of the more punk moments of the evening, Anne showed up with a hair colour that rendered her almost unrecognisable. A sexy smoky eye brought the Debbie Harry-inspired look to another level.
To achieve Anne's hair, celebrity stylist Sascha Breuer applied a golf ball sized amount of Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse to her damp hair. He then rough-dryed the hair with his fingers, sweeping the longer hair back and upwards and pulling the sides tightly back. Using Wella Professionals Bold Move styling paste, Breuer ran his fingers through the mid length and ends for a mussy texture. He finished with a mist of Well Professionals Stay Firm Finishing Spray.
