Designer Sarah Burton has big shoes to fill at Alexander McQueen, but if it's anything to go by, her efforts today just got a big nod of approval from the discerning fashion pack. She cites samurai warriors and erotic Hans Bellmer dolls as her inspiration, as seen through the heavily-embellished armour-like pieces contrasted with will-o'-the-wisp scarlett and blush gowns. Signature McQueen flourishes were evident throughout, think precision sculptural tailoring, power shoulders ... and the ability to make a conservative fabric like woollen tweed seem thoroughly modern and covetable. We can hardly wait to see what her next McQueen collection entails.
