Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Nicole Richie, Ciara and Heidi Klum are among the chic guests who hit the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
While Nicole Richie gave a nod to the season's midriff trend in a slinky white maxi dress, Katy Perry kept covered in a full-volume Oscar de la Renta gown, adding a quirky twist with an adorable Olympia Le-Tan box clutch. Meanwhile, Heidi Klum went with black for tonight's red carpet, but it was far from somber. Instead, her Marchesa dress mixed playful fringe with romantic cut-out flowers — and she carried both motifs through her whole look with Brian Atwood heels and Lorraine Schwartz accessories.

You may not know her as well as her parents, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, but you're going to be hearing a lot about Sosie Bacon in the coming months. Last night, it was announced that she will be Miss Golden Globe 2014, and POPSUGAR US was there for the big event. You'll find that Sosie is as sweet and charming as her parents, and she plays six degrees of Kevin Bacon just like the rest of us!
The event might actually be called GQ Men of the Year, but last night on the red carpet in Sydney, it was all about the ladies. Blonde beauty Jessica Hart jetted in for the event, and was joined by Nicole Trunfio, Naomi Campbell, Cheyenne Tozzi and more international A-list names.
Jessica Hart took out the 2013 Woman of the Year honour, saying "“I feel humbled – it’s so nice to be recognised at home.” While glittering party frocks and sexy fitted gowns were the outfits of choice for most ladies last night, Hart stood out in a plunging, menswear-inspired suit. Both Jessica Hart and Nicole Trunfio stepped out in a pair of similar, metallic-gold pointed-toe pumps.

Angelina Jolie accepted a special honour on Saturday, when she became the youngest person to ever receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' fifth annual Governors Awards in LA. The Oscar statuette was presented to acknowledge Angelina's achievements in activism, including her work for the United Nations and her film projects related to humanitarian issues: A Mighty Heart and In the Land of Blood and Honey. She was joined by Brad Pitt on the red carpet, along with their son Maddox, and she gave a sweet shout out to her family during her acceptance speech. "My family, my love, your love and support make everything possible," she said. "Mad, and your brothers and sisters, there is no greater honour than being your mum."
Last year's winner was Oprah Winfrey, and other past recipients include Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman. Acknowledging the honour ahead of time, Angelina told Associated Press, "Paul Newman has been a hero of mine since I was a little girl. Receiving the Hersholt award makes me feel like I am on the right path but also reminds me I have more to do." This isn't the first time Angelina has been recognised by the Academy, as she won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in Girl, Interrupted back in 2000.
Also honoured at the private event were Steve Martin, Angela Lansbury, and Italian costume designer Piero Tosi, who each received honorary awards for outstanding contributions to film. The untelevised black-tie dinner brought out several big names in entertainment, including Jennifer Garner, Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey. Take a look at all the pictures from the Governors Awards.
The A-list brought their A-game to the red carpet over the weekend for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' fifth annual Governors Awards. Jennifer Garner, Amy Adams, and honouree Angelina Jolie kicked off award season at the black-tie event with a lineup of Oscar-ready gowns. Jennifer Garner stepped out in a tea-length, black Dolce & Gabbana dress and coordinating sky-high platforms. Amy Adams opted for a sleek strapless gown in a gorgeous plum hue; and Angelina Jolie made her mark on the event in a glamorous, sequined black gown with a full skirt. Now that you have all the details, it's time to weigh in: which actress deserves an award for best dressed?
Oscar winner Anne Hathaway didn't always love to exercise. But ever since training for her role as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, Anne (who turned 31 yesterday) has been a fan of fitness and clean eating (her month-long starvation diet for her Les Misérables role notwithstanding, of course). How does she do it? Here's how Anne stays healthy, happy, and fit.A new love: Before training for The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway didn't exactly love to work out. In fact, she said she hated exercising but eventually changed her mind. "There's a workout hump where you're so weak that you hate everything, and everything's painful, and you look like an idiot," she said about her training regimen. Now Anne's "that person" who loves to exercise and likes to do Bikram yoga to stay fit.
Fitness dedication: To get in shape for her Catwoman role, Anne did stunt training five days a week and danced for an hour and a half daily. She also lifted weights and practiced martial arts and yoga. Her intense regimen helped her realise that even in Hollywood, it's not always about your dress size. "I've always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job, I also have to be strong," she told Harper's Bazaar in 2011.
Her diet: When she's not depriving herself to drop 11 kilos in just over a month — as she did to portray dying prostitute Fantine in Les Misérables — Anne's diet is a lot less dangerous (about her two-week starvation, Anne said, "I don't recommend [it]. . . . You can be too thin.") Except for a stint eating meat in her early 20s, Anne Hathaway usually sticks to a plant-based diet. The "commitment-shy" vegetarian sometimes struggles with sticking to her convictions, but since reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer, she has become even more dedicated to her vegetarianism. When Anne wants to indulge, she turns to vegan desserts — she's a huge fan of vegan New York City bakery Babycakes.
Being comfortable: Getting older has helped Anne feel more comfortable in her own skin. "I'm turning 30, and — I hope this isn't obnoxious to say — I feel prettier and much more myself. I guess I just feel much more satisfied with less now," she said in Vogue in 2012.
